  1. I think this is going into the Manifest building? Popular Columbus brewery opening “cutting edge” new taproom with beer-wine hybrids, more “Land-Grant Brewing Co. plans to add its newest taproom, The Extension, at the brewery’s current Franklinton campus later this year. Land-Grant’s taproom today is located at 424 W. Town St., and is known for its expansive outdoor space, alongside igloos and keg curling in the winter. The Extension, which be situated behind Idea Foundry on W, Chapel St., will be next to Land-Grant’s current home, but the 1,000 square foot space plans to set itself apart with its offerings. According to a press release, the new taproom will serve as an “epicenter of innovation,” for the craft brewery, featuring “innovative beers incorporating unexpected ingredients to tantalizing wine-beer hybrids and refreshing ready-to-drink draft cocktails.”’ https://614now.com/2024/food-drink/popular-columbus-brewery-opening-cutting-edge-new-taproom-with-beer-wine-hybrids-more
  2. I’m glad they added more units and created some tucked in parking. But I’m frustrated the project is still incorporating surface parking. There’s so many lots nearby. Surely they could strike a deal with FU or someone to allow residents to park there, if they own a car? And use the open space as a park or amenity. Also, any chances we hear anything on Estrella or the United Way tower this year?
  3. I agree. I keep seeing comments on every new project that it needs retail….but there’s already enough vacant retail space in the urban core. There’s other ways to activate the ground level beyond retail spaces.
  4. Another parking lot could bite the dust soon: https://columbusohdev.app.box.com/s/lhtpqepie61dcencw7bgriejjj9vzni0
  5. Is the first pic bollards being installed for a separated bike lane?
  6. I saw that article and decided against reading it since I knew it’d raise my BP. Thanks for doing that anyway 😅
  7. Its current location is horrible. Looks like a scene from a post-apocalypse movie. I think either Franklinton or the eastern half of downtown would be ideal for it.
  8. With the amount of product that came online in and near downtown last year, I guess it’s not super surprising. There’s gonna be several hundred more units coming online this and next year too. Hopefully, 1) this is enough to bring prices down to a level that anyone who wants to live downtown can afford to (the article does mention the designated affordable units are all leased up), and 2) all of the coming amenities are enough to keep enticing more people to choose to live downtown.

  10. ^One of the articles mentioned Broad specifically wasn’t included because other plans are in the works. LinkUS is one of them, wouldn’t be surprised if some sort of widened pedestrian lane were added too.
  11. That parking lot is pretty large, so definitely plenty of space for a new build and a plaza/park. Looks like the rendering has a dining patio along the new build overlooking the park. I’d love if that ends up happening too!
  12. Phew! Powell got its own thread just in time! Ohio State Wexner Medical to start construction of Powell outpatient campus “Construction is expected to start in April on Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center's outpatient campus in Powell – five years in the making and the last and most expensive of three suburban complexes for the system. The $183 million project includes a two-story health center and attached five-story medical office at 7171 Sawmill Pkwy., according to the proposal medical center trustees approved Tuesday. Services will include physical therapy, endoscopy and advanced urgent care, an intermediate step between urgent and emergency. After several years, the vision is to add a small hospital, an attorney for the medical center told Powell planning and zoning commissioners in November 2022, according to meeting minutes.“ https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2024/02/20/osu-wexner-medical-powell-construction-date.html
  13. If I remember correctly, it’s owned by the funeral home and they were unwilling to sell.
  14. Updates to the Galleria building will go to the DTC this month:
  15. I’m thinking of this quote from the Dispatch: ‘"That’s a very valuable site for the city," Davies added. "The city has made it clear it won't pay any money for the project, but it will donate the land if the symphony can raise the money."’ it strikes me as odd that the city would “make it clear” they won’t pay any money for it. Of course, it wouldn’t be surprising to me either if good ol’ Bill Bush just butchered the quote too.
  16. Does anyone know why the city is apparently so unwilling to contribute in this case? It seems like an obvious project for it to be more involved in.
  17. The apartment looks super nice. Wish the price were a bit lower. Crazy how much the elevator shaft renovation cost.
  18. Tbh, I was thinking the same thing regarding the Opera House.
  19. Tbh I love it. And the optimism the south end of the Peninsula will get a big tower lol
  20. Wonder if it’s changed hands since that 2017 proposal? I believe Schott owns 150 3rd, and when I was on the CU Urban Living Tour last year, the property manager at 150 told me Schott was planning to build in front of the garage, and add amenities (like pool) for the 150 residents to use….
  21. I feel like they could charge a subscription fee to fund vendors, and this site would be enough to keep them in business 😂
