Neither of us can predict the future with certainty regarding costs and market trends. However, we can choose whether to be optimistic or pessimistic. I will always choose optimism about Columbus.

The Hilton tower was completed in 2022 so I don’t share the same skepticism as you.

I was referring to a tower solely for hotel rooms like the Hilton, not mixed use.

We definitely need another hotel project in the downtown area asap and preferably a tower. If we want to compete with peer cities like Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Detroit, etc we need to keep up.

I really don’t see the appeal of Over The Rhine. Everytime I’ve been there im just like mehhh. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

What ever happened to Corso opening up multiple restaurants on the ground floor of the AC hotel? Haven’t heard anything about it in awhile.

Give me a tower on the convention center surface parking lot so we can have a little cluster of towers right here.

Big miss on the hotel portion being removed. Downtown needs more hotels. Another hotel specific tower and some boutique hotels around the area.

Are there any proposals/plans for a new hotel downtown? I know merchant tower will have a hotel inside, but I’m talking about hotel specific project like the Canopy or the AC. Columbus wants to keep getting large events. They need to keep up with the downtown hotel inventory. I feel like it’s concerning. They haven’t had any proposals in a while. Also I would love to see them add a more high-end name at some point. Something like Ritz-Carlton.

Are there any plans for a downtown aquarium? Something like that is sorely needed.
