  1. Another photo from a friend - seems like the demolition is progressing quickly:
  2. Nate Ellis of ThisWeekNews coming in with some Kingsdale demolition photos on Twitter: Edited to include a photo from a friend of the blue bricks being stripped off the building before the walls came down:
  3. This tweet from the city would seem to suggest that they are planning on saving the blue bricks in some capacity (unless "tile" here is referring to something else).
  4. Yeah, now that everything is in place, I'd imagine that they'll want to get going pretty quickly. The community center itself is probably going to take a bit longer, however. In the city's press release about the referendum results, they say they'll be doing design work "over the next year," with construction taking another two years after that.
  5. In good news for the Kingsdale redevelopment project, Upper Arlington voters have just approved the construction of a community center.
  6. A new update video on the 15+High project from the university that includes some nice aerial shots:
  7. I mean, given that the community center taskforce was formed in response to residents' desire for a community center, I'd say it has a decent chance of passing, particularly given that they will not be raising taxes to pay for it.
  8. An Arlington Gateway update: The remaining buildings on the lot are coming down.
  9. Some new renderings for the proposed Kingsdale development: Site plan Senior housing, looking northeast Senior housing, looking north Apartments, looking southwest Apartments, looking west(-ish)
  10. Some movement on the Arlington Gateway: https://www.thisweeknews.com/story/news/local/upper-arlington/2021/01/13/arlington-gateway-demolition-expected-start-feb-18-upper-arlington-project/4144426001/
  11. One of the Arts District cameras has gone offline because the crane it was mounted to has been disassembled, and is being reassembled for work on the Theater Building:
  12. The page for the new parking shuttle (https://ttm.osu.edu/sites/default/files/jps_map.pdf) has been updated to say that service will begin December 21, so I expect that the new garage will open on that date (consistent with what @DTCL11 said earlier). EDIT: Just came across this post from FOD confirming it: https://fod.osu.edu/wmc-garage-opening
  13. The helipad may have already been decommissioned. Looking at the construction camera, it looks like the "H" marking the helipad has been crossed out: This is pretty standard practice to mark an aircraft landing site as inoperative (see the decommissioned runways at KOSU). The FAA still has it listed as operational (as of December 3), though, so this might not be the case.
  14. It's not train-based, but I just came an apparently new "James Parking Shuttle" route on the OSU TTM page: I could definitely see them expanding this once all the construction is done.
  15. I would assume that the new stop will only be used by the medical center routes (Med Center Express, Ackerman Shuttle, Morehouse to Med Center Shuttle), while the Herrick Drive Transit Hub will still be used by the "academic" routes (CLN/CSL/WC/etc).
  16. I thought that was the case as well, so I was surprised to see that it looks like the only changes being made are the demolition of the Drake and rerouting the northernmost part of Cannon from east of the northwest stadium lot to the west. The meeting minutes list this as the project scope: Rebuild Cannon Drive between John Herrick Drive and Woody Hayes Drive at its current elevation and construct a certified ODNR flood protection levee Straighten the northern end of Cannon by eliminating the S-curve and creating a new signalized intersection at the east end of the river bridge Construct a bus pull off at the southeast corner of Herrick and Cannon Drives for the new hospital tower Project scope also includes the continued expansion of the river park
  17. I imagine this is probably why it's not starting until 2023. The Department of Theatre can't move out of the Drake until the new Theatre Building is completed, which is still on a COVID-induced hold.
  18. It does seem a little odd that they're using metal panelling on the new garage that is almost literally right across the street from this one, but here they're going for bare concrete.
  19. From this week's Master Planning Committee meeting, our first look (?) at the second phase of the Cannon Drive realignment, currently set to begin construction in May 2023:
  20. From this week's Master Planning Committee meeting, a first look at the Dodd parking garage: Nothing particularly exceptional to see here.
  21. I was wondering when that would get underway. They've had the planned construction start date listed as 10/20, so it seems they're coming in just under the wire.
  22. New renderings include replacing the CVS facade to more closely align aesthetically:
  23. Some new renderings of the Quarry Trails development + an article from Columbus Underground: https://thrivecos.com/developments/quarry-trails/ https://www.columbusunderground.com/renderings-released-for-quarry-trails-development-bw1
  24. Looks like the former Barnes and Noble at Kingsdale is being torn down and replaced by an Aldi: This is from a revised development plan so maybe this is old news, but it's the first I'm hearing of it.
