  1. How infuriating. Looks like I'll have to vote for a (opposing) Juvenile Court Judge for the first time in my life.
  2. This, I believe, is what is known as a facepalm moment.
  3. Oh that'd be great, I didn't know that. It does say "Each Certificate Value: $25.00" so maybe it's 2 $25ers.
  4. ^ I like those deals if you have a group, but it's worth mentioning you have to use the full $50 all at once. It's easy to miss ("Certificate must be used in full" is listed under restrictions).
  5. Regarding the Burning River Fest -- I've never been, is it a good time? It seems pretty family oriented from the online schedule. I'm also a bit confused since it says it goes until 11pm but it looks like everything dries up around 7pm except for a Dave Matthews Tribute band.

uh-oh, watch out KJP's gonna get you The Sidebar?

Any pictures of the FBI cars parked "all around the county administration building"? This is incredible. What's funny is everyone's reaction seems to be "what took so long?"
  8. ^^ Agreed, Pacific East on Coventry is pretty awesome (what is it about those wooden boats? I swear they make the food taste better). Ohashi, on Lorain & Columbia in North Olmsted, is decent if you're on the west side and don't feel like making the trek out east.

What Cincinnatur said is true, but if you use WiFi mostly for your Internet, there will be no difference. The difference will be when you're on the road or out of WiFi range. I have no idea how good AT&T's 3G service is around here, but I know it's been rated the best "high speed" network from a wireless provider a couple years in a row now. And I agree, this should probably go in the thread devoted to iPhone discussion.
  10. If you like squid, the salt baked squid at Saigon is pretty amazing IMO. Many of the appetizers there have left me less than impressed, but I've been happy with my main courses.
  11. I just go for the contact buzz.
  12. And people wonder why unions have such a bad rap these days. How pathetic. I'm also surprised this wasn't identified as an issue during the formation of DCA as part of due diligence. I assume they at least talked with City beforehand. Where were the objections then? Something doesn't smell right here.
  13. I'm planning on stopping by but I have the distinct feeling it's going to be rather... eh.
  14. ^Huh, that's a great bit of info, thanks! I'll have to give them another try. I wonder why they kept the menu items the same though. Budgetary constraints maybe?
  15. Food is pricey but tasty. Decor is rather blah; I felt like I was in my grandma's basement or something. Try searching the forum, there were a few other reviews from a year back or so IIRC.

lol -- I wish I could blame that one on my browser's spell check...but i'd be lieing  BTW, the Sound of Ideas segment was sort of 'eh'. Although I did like the quote from Chris Quinn: "It's like putting a neon sign on the County Administration building saying 'We're up to no good, come investigate us.'" He also said they've got about a half dozens reporters assigned to this now.

There was a segment on WCPN's The Sound of Ideas this morning talking with a PD editor about this episode. Unfortunately I had arrived at my destination just as they started getting going on it. I'll have to track down the mp3, I'll be interested to hear if any of the alleged mob connections are eluded to or not. On a side note, I have to say I really enjoy listening to Dan Moulthrop on 90.3. *EDIT: I should have done a simple search first, google is amazing. Here's the link (still haven't listened though, so I don't know how worthwhile it is): http://www.wcpn.org/index.php/WCPN/soi/11603/
  19. ^ How is the one ~E21st? For some reason I always thought it was just a wholesale outlet without tables, although I think that was a total fabrication in my mind. I was probably confusing it with the Arabica that used to be on Prospect ~E40th or so.

lol What in the hell?? That reaction seems a tad extreme. Makes one wonder if there's more to the story here.

^^ Agreed; I've only been once but he was a real cool guy, I liked the clothes, and he worked with me on the price when I offered to pay cash. I'll have to stop in again.

I used to have the biggest crush on Toni Basil. Vengelis. lol.

^^ Wow, that's really contrary to what I recall being told. So much so I have to wonder if it was a mis-understanding on my part. Thanks again -- very helpful since that would be a significant (non-existent) selling point for me. And btw, it doesn't necessarily take a party environment to change the feeling of a building. I don't hold any animosity towards the kids moving into my building; they're just kids afterall. It's more about the general respect for common areas (they're significantly dirtier now), connectability with fellow tennants ("so, uhhh, what's your major"), etc.

I'd recommend Amazon instead of iTunes. High bit rates (=higher quality) and no DRM crap that prevents you from easily copying to other computers & devices other than Apple authorized ones. This may not be an issue now, but in 5-10 years when iPods may be obsolete a lot of people are going to be smacking their foreheads wishing they had portable tracks. Just my opinion. :-D
