I heard several of the original Wu-Tang were from Steubenville.. Was that just a rumor?
  2. I think Regina Brett defines "simplistic"

I bailed on Chipotle last night after seeing the huge line.. So I guess they're doing well.
  4. From the PD -- Violent crime up 11% in Cleveland; outpacing the nation. It's got a nice PDF image of the area, so I won't bother copying and pasting the text. It seems like I've seen a lot more patrol cars downtown lately, has anyone else noticed this? During the day as well as in the evening.

Istanbul is a great city as are Capadocia and Efes if you feel like sticking in Turkey. Might want to try a Greek island tour while you're in the neighborhood. You can find them relatively cheap if, as you say, you wait to book one once you're in the country. I understand your hesitance to do that though, I have similar pre-planning anxieties.

Happiness? Seriously? I do have to agree with Blue Velvet though.. I'm surprised Heathers didn't make the list.
  7. Okay, so that strengthens my point that the CPD did well here by keeping the guy in jail overnight at all.
  8. The fact that they arrested the guy speaks well to the CPD I would think? Isn't that sort of standard procedure for non-violent crimes -- arrest, spend a night in jail then go to court/sentencing at a later date?
  9. Link to Article I'd gladly pay it if it was guaranteed to go to safety services.
  10. Looks like it.. They're closing off the entire eastern stretch of sidewalk of E9th along the tower to pedestrian traffic and a trailer has been parked in front.
  11. Huh, I hadn't heard a peep about this -- thank you, I'll definitely be checking it out. I hope they address the scalability issues as well as challenges for providing year round local food given the climate changes.
  12. Bah. Much appreciate the inquiry though, thank you.
  13. It'd be awfully hard to build rockets, supersonic windtunnels, 2.2 second drop towers and giagantic vacuum chambers in a skyscraper, but your heart is in the right place.

^They sure do. On so many levels. Speaking of random vents, what's up with the random sidewalk vent on Euclid just west of Jimmy John's. It's a freaking wind tunnel, and now you can't even avoid it since they narrowed the walkway even further. Granted it's upskirt heaven if you're in that sort of thing (kidding!), but it really bugs me.
  15. Has anyone been to M Lang (Euclid & E13th?) for suits? I got a shirt there once, seemed like a decent place.
  16. Pretty nasty. edit: except for the liquor, as previously noted.
  17. Yeah, he grew up in Bay Village (along with his brother Richard who played with Nine Inch Nails and formed the band Filter).
  18. That's 5 minutes of my life I will never get back.
  19. Thanks. Let them know I'd be happy to help with the software development at a fair-market rate, too.
  20. Was CitiStat ever implemented? My understanding is that it's an electronic database tracking tool for crime and that at some point CPD was planning to use it. I ask because my layman's understanding of the Sunshine Laws state that they would be obligated to provide non-confidential information in electronic form if so, which I think would be a lot easier to work withand perhaps more accurate.
  21. Yes, it was pretty snazzy. The vaults were cool too.

Check out the Statler Arms, E12th and Euclid (216-696-6800). There are some reasonably priced apartments here, and it's been shifting to a younger crowd since they've started leasing to more CSU students (which has its pros and cons). I'll even split the referral bonus with you
  23. Hit Zocalo tonight and was a bit disappointed with the steak burrito. Might just need to search the menu more. The place looked fantastic though.
  24. I remember that plot well.. Crocker used to be 45 mph there too, it was a dream.. However, the picture is a little misleading. The K-Mart plaza was right across the street, it's not like it was an idyllic landscape.
  25. I don't know if this should really go here or not.. LINK TO ARTICLE
