  1. Lots of questionable statements in that article, tbh. "Its razing will help usher in a new residential era for Scranton Peninsula".. and "the ridding of an industrial blemish is bound to make the welcoming of the Silverhills at Thunderbird apartment complex more suited to luxury renters ".. huh? those industrial "blemishes" are half the appeal of the area imo.
  2. that's reassuring. I have to admit, the 0.5 parking:unit ratio did make me wonder a bit. are there metrics that capture average street parking availability within a certain radius?
  3. I was confused by that too. I rewound, pretty sure she said "a few years," not 50. yeah, those before/after shots, lmao. seals the deal imo.
  4. Professor Market has the staples. I've gotten eggs and milk there before. They have a deli slicer. Sure, I wish it had some fancier options but it's fine in a pinch. Daves and WSM are a 5 minute bike ride away.
  5. Guesing it's unrelated but I saw this building in yellow has a notice on the door saying it's "been determined to be vacant". Wondered if that meant someone was trying to acquire? Just thought it was interesting, hadn't seen that before.
  6. Has anyone heard an update on La Cave Du Vin? Was supposed to take over the old Spotted Owl space
  7. Like a private well for natural gas? Interesting, I didn't know that was a thing! Kind of surprised it's economically feasible. I assume there's more regulations/safety concerns but obviously I have no idea what I'm talking about.
  8. who ended up being the winner
  9. seems more likely they just weren't making ends meet. in another thread several people admitted they didn't know it was there or felt the marketing/signage wasn't great. I have to agree, imo it wasn't real obvious there's a nice brewpub on the premises, it's more dominated by the cohatch building/signage. it's a shame, I liked it.
  10. the bizarreness continues. everything about these events is just so confusing to me.
  11. so was the contractor out of their depth? or is this just the nature of dealing with this old infrastructure?
  12. it's been working fine for me. have you tried making a new account via the ccpl link?
  13. Looks like Tost in Tremont is finally getting ready to open and will (eventually?) be a small market in addition to sandwich shop: "The Tremont store is also located in a highly residential area that doesn’t have a conveniently located grocery store on the block. Karakostas plans on expanding the market offerings at the new Tost to include fresh produce, frozen food, and dry goods. The Lakewood Tost mainly offers deli accessories and international products, so it will be a significant expansion." https://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/2023/09/tost-tremont-to-open-this-fall-with-plans-for-more-greater-cleveland-shops.html?e=3d5350d8b144690d3cdee4e5f7d1c97a&utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Newsletter_dine_drink_cle 2023-09-14&utm_term=Newsletter_dine_drink
  14. fyi, if you have a cuyahoga county public library card you can use it to create a Crain's account to access their content for free: https://cuyahogalibrary.org/research-discover/resources-a-z/crains-cleveland-business oh wait I don't know why I thought this was a Crain's link my bad lol
  15. Thanks for this clarification. Hartnett herself said as much in the preceding paragraphs but I wasn't sure what to make of it given Brandt said she "presumes" they submitted them for disbursement. This is complicated stuff, but I would have presumed an internal auditor would clarify something like this rather than making allegations based on presumptions.
  16. Has anyone heard an update on the Center Street Bridge? Last I heard they were hoping to open it this summer. Are there any official sources for updates?
  17. just moved back to Cleveland after living in California for a few years. absolutely loved the required coastal access. it just feels like the right thing to do, as a society.
  18. Confusing thread to parse. Horrific. I think he's saying the individuals driving look like the guys from this video?
  19. Did they find a shell casing? The article says the caller didn't see a gun and car alarms went off bc it was so loud. Sounds more like an m80 type firecracker to me. I grew up in Bay, don't underestimate the city's ability to overreact.
  20. It looks like they're working on the space that was Pour Coffee on Literary Rd in Tremont. Bags with the name "Nirvana Coffee" are lined up in the window and looks like there will be seating now, or at least a counter.
  21. Does anyone know if the "other" Edison's still opening?
  22. A little surprised this isn't bigger news. Saw it on page 6 in the Plain Dealer. Apparently this was the second shooting on W6th that night, three others were shot on W6 in Tremont as well. Is posting of PD screencaps frowned upon? Assuming so or I'd post it.
  23. https://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/2023/05/spotted-owl-to-close-re-open-as-la-cave-du-vin-then-relocate.html Spotted Owl turning into La Cave du Vin then moving into the old Lolita space. I think? very complicated
  24. and sokolowski's rip neighborhood seems to be doing well though. I'm excited for Battr.
  25. Hi all, haven't posted in a while (moved away for a spell and now happily back in Cleveland). I'm thinking about opening a private practice (mental health) and trying to find some small, comfortable office space in the area. Haven't quite decided where (and open to any thoughts), but considering downtown/near west side. I haven't ever really looked for office space before and not seeing much on Craigslist. Any suggestions for the best places/sites to find available spaces?
