    No Momofuku on the list?
  2. Hi, Is it possible to get an RSS feed for specific threads? If so could someone help me out with where the link is? I see how to do it for an entire sub-forum, but of course that includes all posts to all threads in the sub-forum. I also see a notify button but assume that'll just email me whenever there's a post. I'd really like to subscribe to 5 or so specific threads and incorporate them into my google reader. Thanks :)
  3. Hey bbars, told ya these guys would help ya out eh? ;) So where'd you end up?
  4. Search didn't turn up any hits for "Behind Bars" -- apologies if this is duplicate information [link to source] 'Behind Bars' airs tonight, featuring the Cuyahoga County jail By Donna J. Miller, Plain Dealer reporter February 25, 2010, 8:17AM CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office and its jail will be featured tonight in the Discovery Channel's series "Behind Bars." The show airs at 10 p.m. Thursdays and 1 a.m. Fridays on Time Warner Channel 54 in Cleveland. Discovery Channel camera crews spent four weeks in the Cuyahoga County Corrections Center covering "staff, inmates, policies and events," sheriff's spokesman John O'Brien said
  5. Does anybody know what the deal is with the Lakewood Dog Park possibly closing? I've only heard extreme viewpoints from either side and don't feel like I've gotten an objective description of the issue.
  6. No new Lakewood news lately? I was surprised to see the IHOP had closed.

I've lived in that area and KJP's description is accurate. It's not terrible but there were on occasion problems. I would recommend looking elsewhere.

yeah i saw this earlier today, thought it was hilarious. esp the part about the payphones and trains taking jobs out of cleveland.
  9. Wow I can't believe they actually caught HEK. I saw that dude's tag freaking everywhere. While I don't condone overly harsh punishments, it seems like they should've at least gotten some sort of restitution from them.

Congrats on the move, always exciting. And of course, best of luck!

A Song of Ice and Fire is probably my all time favorite series. HBO has purchased the rights to it and supposedly it's already gone through a couple of script iterations. I really hope they don't blow it if it get green lit. A Dance with Dragons was supposed to be out months ago but it's still totally up in the air as to when it'll be done (according to his own blog entry).

I liked The Road, although it was horribly depressing. Still looking forward to the movie, though. I guess I'm a sucker for that stuff (Requiem for a Dream is a favorite of mine) Right now I'm reading Good Calories, Bad Calories which is an interesting perspective on what it means to "eat healthy". I'm not sure I totally agree with him but if nothing else it points out how little scientific fact is actually behind a lot of our dietary recommendations. It can be a little dry at points with all the references, but some portions are really interesting.
  13. I've never had nor heard of problems with bugs in Statler. I have cats though so who knows  Large dogs are allowed as well, btw. I can't emphasize enough how ridonkulously crappy the garage is. Like I said before, they raise prices with no notice (I've had billing invoices just show up $20 higher with no explanation). Plus if your pass mysteriously stops working (as mine has three times in the last year now) you are locked in or out at night since they no longer have 24 hour attendants. I've heard good things about the Halle parking for $85 / mo though.

    Fire + Ice? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
  15. I would avoid the Chesterfield, it's pretty dumpy. Reserve Square is decent. Statler is nice but a little pricey and the garage owner has a penchant for raising prices without notice (it's increased >50% in the three years I've been here). The commute from Lakewood/Rocky River isn't terrible. If you need to drive (instead of RTA which is very accessible), taking the Shoreway is a nice alternative to I-90.
  16. Now if only we could do something about the 5 or 6 properties that do nothing along Euclid between E12th and Tower City. I really don't think it's DCA's responsibility, but it would be nice if they could help here. I think it's despicable that this happens regardless of if the building is occupied or not (there's still a property owner that should be held accountable). I witnessed a wheelchair bound man forced to use Euclid because the sidewalk was impassable. You'd think the scam artists would be having a field day with this and the sheer fear of liability would force people to do some minimal maintenance but apparently not. ...Ok, that's my only rant for the year about this.
  17. Hah, I periodically ask as well. She always tells me to just buy more and save it in my fridge because it heats up nicely.
  18. Does Melt do call aheads? I kind of doubt it but thought it worth asking. I've had a similar experience the last couple visits and yes, it is frustrating. A victim of their own success I guess.

I like that area. Interested to see how they'll build road access to them.

What's the status on the concrete testing? It was supposed to take a couple weeks iirc.

why do so many dentist last names start with "H"?
  22. Some people are simply better at communicating through a written words rather than a spoken ones. I suspect Mayor Jackson is one of those people. I agree with the sentiment that he should communicate more in general, by whatever medium.

I like the pictures. I enjoy seeing the countless imaginative ways people deface his fugly mug on gas pumps all over the county. Plus out of towners always ask "what's the deal with that mafia dude's face on gas pumps?" which I find hilarious as well.
  24. The crew would be delighted if we could build a space suit that would allow the range of motion that would be necessary for such smooth footage during a surface EVA. As it is now we basically put them in an inflated, semi-rigid bladder and they're forced to "hop" around to get from point A to point B.
  25. It's a shame if Krazy Mac's (still hate that name) has gone under, but I have to agree with the above sentiments that it just wasn't executed all that well in terms of service or tastiness.
