Cincinnati: West End: Development and News
I would suspect it's cheaper to fill them in. They were used by the ballet for storage and such until the very end. I poked around the tunnels with some friends before they closed it. I'll dig out the photos at some point.

You can't break the rules just because no one is watching. Driving isn't a right. It's a privilege on public property.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
Use the site archive.ph and you can read archived versions of the article. But here's a snippet "For years, anyone who has enjoyed Over-the-Rhine's nationally-lauded renaissance has found that the restaurants and stores seem to abruptly end at Liberty Street. Now, a $60 million project in the neighborhood’s northernmost pocket near Findlay Market promises to make the section north of Liberty Street safer and more economically prosperous like its more gentrified southern half. “The area right now has so many empty, vacant buildings and neighbors don’t like living next to vacant buildings,” said John Wulsin, vice president of the Over-the-Rhine Community Council. "People want to have neighbors who are people.” Restoring the existing building stock and making room for new construction is something locals want. They're happy the popular indoor-outdoor Somerset Bar on E. McMicken Avenue has brought more attention, diversity and foot traffic to this area."

Amtrak & Federal: Passenger Rail News
I don't own a vehicle. The only way I can get to Dayton, Columbus, or Cleveland is by rental car. The greyhound station laughably inaccessible even when there is service. And that is ridiculously silly. It's flat, and empty. Rail here is a no brainer.

Greater Cincinnati Metro (SORTA) and TANK News & Discussion
I work in this space and there are ongoing projects in Ohio with just this technology. It is not complex or difficult. The frustration is that cities want to pilot something that works really well everywhere its implemented and there are dozens of examples. Towns and cities. It's an entirely customized, dynamic solution.

Signal prioritization could be done in a few hours. This isn't a new or difficult thing. It's political will.

Greater Cincinnati Metro (SORTA) and TANK News & Discussion
Are you suggesting an East - West route from the casino to Union terminal? The route would follow Central parkway and Ezzard Charles I'd imagine... I think an uptown link along Vine paired with BRT is truly going to be a challenge to do both.

Cincinnati: West End: Development and News
The city has been doing extensive water works around these streets the last few months replacing pipes and a water main, etc. I wonder if they're preparing for one or both of these big projects to come online soon? Lots of activity in these few blocks ongoing with residential homes as well.
