  1. Oh yeah, you're spot on! I'm completely misremembering from when I had all of these same misconceptions when I worked for the Licking County government when Johnstown was becoming a city in 2020 lol. There was so much gossip.
  2. It's all based on resident electors, not population. They force you to become a city when over 5,000 registered voters vote in an election or are registered to vote at time of a general election.
  3. I do not believe they force you to become a city once you hit that point. I know if you do choose to go "city" it does mandate some local governmental changes. The Village of Granville would likely have to invite more people to participate and more community voted in positions and I can't imagine they want that. They want to keep things the way they are.
  4. Granville as a town is just a bully. It's like the entire town hates that it's in Licking County and wants to pretend it's somewhere else.
  5. Not surprising at all. The "old Granville" types are some of the biggest haters I've ever met in my life. Some of the worst/most entitled people I've ever encountered in my entire career/life have come out of this town and they're also the types to try and hold power over others. Plenty of great people, but there are some next level rotten eggs in that town and they love to force their opinions on everyone else.
  6. I love how we are forced to consider the opinions of these nobodies on developments they will literally never even utilize.
  7. Well technically speaking, being able to both live here and park here is two separate uses. Mixed use!
  8. Imagine the awesome cuisines and cultural things they'd bring us! We know this person only brings hate and misinformation and we certainly don't need that.
  9. Oh man, I have to imagine there are people in Delaware County who would hate to hear that Licking County might be doing something better than them.
  10. "More units less parking" is like an urbanists wet dream project update lol.
  11. Well now it's 100% obvious to us that you're behind this development and were only waiting for a Powell specific thread to announce it.
  12. They are't building any strip malls in Heath? They built a Bojangles but that's it. They are at strip mall capacity.
  13. It shouldn't! Neither should Powell. I wonder how many years go by until the next page is hit.
  14. Yeah but that was 100M in 10+ years ago dollars for a project that was much cheaper than this one. The Wolfe's donated less than 5% of the cost of the current total project where I imagine that 100M was closer to 20% or more of the original hospital.
  15. If Powell gets its' own thread so should Heath.
  16. Correct! Downtown Heath is currently the Giant Eagle to Best Buy parking lots.
  17. Nobody said it was, just using that fact to point out that Heath hasn't had a downtown for about 75 years.
  18. Oh my goodness, you need to go. You can't conceptualize the absolute insane improvement that this is without actually going there. Heath was formed in like 1950, it was designed around the automobile. "Downtown" Heath right now is the super stroad and strip mall/fast food haven that is state route 79. There is literally nothing walkable about the City of Heath today, I can't even think where there would even be a sidewalk and I lived there for 3 years. I don't even think there are more than two points to safely cross the 5 lanes of 79 either and one side of the road is all commercial and it's mostly residential on the other side, but you might die walking the 10 minutes to work currently. Basically if you are a Heath resident and talk about going "downtown" currently, you're actually talking about downtown Newark.
  19. I have an idea. They could start band practice at 2:30am right outside his house everyday. Or get the guys who maintains the tubas to go test them in his neighborhood or something.
  20. Oh okay, that makes sense. I tell my clients to do the same thing. They are going to say no but it doesn't hurt to ask!
  21. Well if you do stop by for a visit, you're probably coming out with a lot less money in your pocket. Seeking medical care feels like a huge financial gamble these days so the design is fitting lol.
  22. We need someone to live stream it and provide commentary as if it's a high speed police chase.
  23. Oh man, and now it's a historic parking lot. We love our history in Ohio!
  24. In the NHL circles it was just earlier this week where people were saying "Ohio Stadium can never host an outdoor NHL game, it isn't winterized". I'm guessing those folks are not plugged into CFB circles because now we all know OSU finally has a reason to winterize it since they fully plan on playing playoff football games in the winter probably starting next year. CBJ vs Detroit (if that's who they play) in The Horseshoe could potentially be the largest crowd ever at an NHL game if they do it right. Market it as Ohio vs Michigan and that stadium will be packed.
