  1. Great idea! I'm keeping the penthouse for myself to get high in. Going to get a giant neon pot leaf to put on the roof to.
  2. I'm personally going to propose my own 1100ft tower downtown. I don't have any renderings, any money or any experience, but someone needs to propose something.
  3. Corporate owned rental apartments pretty much are just storage units for humans. I can't imagine anyone is moving into a building like this thinking "I've just moved to my forever home".
  4. I have to imagine there is a finite amount of developers interested in the Columbus area and they can all only handle so many projects at a time. Seems every local developer has a crazy amount of projects going on. Maybe everyone is just too busy?
  5. It's not like Easton has places you can't find everywhere else though. Like why go to the most crowded place to shop when anywhere else is also an option? Only time I go there is to hang to with my city-fearing parents lol.
  6. So the Easton thing. Do people who live in Columbus actually go to Easton? The only people I really know that enjoy going there are people who live in the suburbs or exurbs and they're often fearing for their life the entire time they are there. Me and my other city dwelling friends avoid Easton like the plague.
  7. Lmao, I tried to leave that as open ended as possible. First time I walked into one I though "I could do pushups in here" but I'm sure if you bring another person, or more, you could have any kind of porta party you want. They are nice just for getting the temporary porta potties out of there though. Just a bit cleaner and a little less gross, but they don't have the urinal thing in there which I think was a missed opportunity with how much room there is. I've personally used the one at Scioto Grove and out at Lobdell. Would pee in again.
  8. That's just hysterical. It was literally a drive-thru when my office was right there just 4 years ago! Was also a convenient place to buy a real Christmas tree.
  9. They've been installing these "permanent porta potties" at parks all around Central Ohio. They still need to be pumped out and cleaned like the portables but you get enough space in there to do whatever you want.
  10. And one can only assume they'll soon announce the train service connecting west campus to the rest of campus right (obviously I'm joking, absolute pipe dream)? I actually had a r/OSU post pop up in my feed the other day and all the students were complaining about how difficult it is to get from west campus to main campus when you only have a short gap between classes. But they gotta get that football stadium ready for winter so maybe in 2050 or something they can add a train.
  11. Plus the Winter Classic is a massive draw for NHL fans. If you get an opportunity to watch professional hockey outdoors, the fans jump at that even if they don't care about who is playing. It's just cool!
  12. The football program literally makes enough money for all other OSU athletic programs (except Men's basketball) to operate at a loss. Men's basketball turns a slight profit and football rakes in 10s (100s?) of millions.
  13. Or even just take a look at places like Chicago and NYC. A lot of those tall buildings are full of rich people.
  14. People seem to forget that not every retiree wants to live by a beach or on a farm with no neighbors. Some people want to live up high in an urban area!
  15. They get to stay on the ones on Lane Avenue... in Upper Arlington. And then walk lol.
  16. You mean you don't want to stay at the Red Roof Inn on the other side of the river?!
  17. Yeah that would be a terrible use of this land. An Amazon facility can literally go anywhere, don't put it in prime time real estate.
  18. Oh wow, I did not really look at the location until now. What a great spot for Newark honestly. People in the area are very okay with driving to entertainment and it being right off 16 will probably bring in other non-local traffic.
  19. I understand it's significantly more expensive, but would be nice if these brand new developments planted some more mature trees so we didn't have to wait 15+ years to get some shade.
  20. Oh dang, I saw that article and thought "uhhh, another barcade thing we have dozens here in Columbus". Did not realize this was a Newark development! Probably going to absolutely crush it in Newark honestly. They're dying for some more unique nightlife over there that isn't "sit at bar and drink there".
  21. I'm either living in a city or living rural, but as far as suburban developments go this is like the most attractive one to me I've seen. Get a lot of points for having nice sidewalks and things to walk to. I feel like typically both are not present.
  22. Congratulations! Nobody can ever take that from you.
  23. I don't know, we could really benefit from a second 315 on the other side of the river to really close off all the access to the Olentangy. /s
  24. Honestly nothing worse than losing mature trees. We will never see them replaced to the same level in our lifetime. And giant parcels of grass are essentially parking lots to the animal kingdom. They barely have any use in nature.
  25. Every time I've been down there, which is a lot, and every time I've seen photos posted here there is very obvious progress. Seems like they are not messing around, going to be awesome to watch this thing go up.
