Columbus: Linden Developments and News
TIm replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionMight as well remove all the sidewalks while they're at it. Maybe add in a dangerous high speed blind curve that pedestrians are forced to frogger across?

Columbus: Downtown: Merchant Building
Fully agree. Stop in for a nice lunch and then do a bit of shopping and leave with some cool local stuff. Sounds like a good time to me!

Yeah the North Market is always busy, new places are opening up in there places aren't shutting down or anything. Plus you can park in the Vine garage if you don't like street parking and they'll validate it in the North Market.

Bring on the action! Going to be a lot more weekday lunches at North Market for me haha.

Central Ohio Metro Parks / Columbus Recreation & Parks
I wouldn't put too much weight on these images right now, I think they just made them to get people excited and generate some interest in the community. Feel like I've absolutely seen other renderings with the bridge making a full 360 degree connection over the river.

Columbus: Franklinton Developments and News
So is anyone else learning for the first time ever that this is a building and not a giant billboard? It's cool and all but... basically nobody will see it.

It's just such a good idea. They should pilot some new urban grocery store design right there just like they tested the new super Kroger design (idk what it's called) in Newark. When I was the health inspector there, we had like a dozen people from corporate present for that licensing inspection which is NOT normal. You're an Ohio company, do something cool in Ohio!

If anyone was looking to intentionally get tetanus, this is your spot.

Would be a cool opportunity to have a spaghetti monster themed room as well.

TIm replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionIt would actually be pretty interesting to know how many times golf balls actually make it past that net, if ever. I have to imagine it's infrequent to never. Feel like we would have heard the story "Golfer at Top Golf insert location smashed car windshield with ball and causes 8 car wreck".

Oh man, a cold storage facility would have been perfect! I go into those for work a lot and they are insanely well insulated, would probably have been a great place to start for sound dampening.

It's a super annoying setup. Was fun as a novelty, but going there just for the music is an absolute chore right now.

That artist warehouse they priced everyone out of in Franklinton would be awesome. I have to imagine there are other similar facilities available in Franklinton or the Warehouse District or something. Could even be space to have it be multiple stories like some of the Meow Wolf locations.

Excellent locations. It just needs to be close to where the people are. And it also needs to be designed so much better for live music. It's a really cool place, but it's a pretty awful venue to see a show at. The way it is designed, the stage area is the central corridor so everyone is moving through that area to get to other parts of the venue. You constantly have people pushing past you no matter where you are standing. And they keep getting great acts so it's your only option for more niche but also popular dubstep, house, techno etc.

DOWNTOWN. This is a destination type venue, it needs to be somewhere people actually want to go.

Heath: Developments and News
Awesome new article about the proposed "Downtown" for Heath. Sounds like there are a lot of people behind the scenes within the city who are really supportive of this development. Could be a monumental change for Heath overall. Article makes it almost sound like a sure thing as well. https://www.newarkadvocate.com/story/news/local/2023/10/14/heaths-downtown-dream-closer-to-reality-with-mixed-use-development/71163728007/

Columbus: Zoning Discussion
We should all pool our money together and build the largest structure reasonably possible right on that corner.

Makes a ton of sense. Have logistics operations near an airport that has a lot of cargo planes. Probably a pretty attractive feature to a lot of manufacturing operations.

I was pretty impressed with Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. It was really nice and seemed to be a lot of new construction going on as well.

We might have to emulate what they are doing over in the Cleveland forum for the Sherwin Williams HQ and have multiple people upload multiple photos everyday. It's going to need to be a group effort!

Okay these public comments are exactly why normal sane people need to attend these meetings. "Not the spot for another high rise student dormitory". Like what?! Anyone with eyes could identify that as an excellent area for more student housing seeing as it's entirely surrounded by it currently.

4 or 5 more Wario's down there would probably do the trick.

New Albany: Ohio One (Intel Semiconductor Facility)
Something I've observed in my career that has me working with companies from all over the country is that companies in Ohio LOVE working with other companies in Ohio. I've had well into triple digit clients coast to coast and all the nicest clients I have ever had have worked at Ohio companies. It's honestly a really cool phenomenon nobody ever talks about. There are a lot of great people in this state doing awesome work they are proud of.
