That's a lot of loading bays for a data center.

Newark: Developments and News
TIm replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThere was a plan floated out there years ago for the old now demolished and cleaned up manufacturing site across from the Newark Earthworks on 79 where Heath and Newark meet. Part of the proposal was redeveloping that entire site into a huge mixed use development, building museum and educational facilities for the Indian Mounds in the area and construction of a tunnel underneath 79 to connect the development to the Mounds across the street so pedestrians could get there safely. It was all quite conceptual obviously but it was an interesting idea.

Dublin: Developments and News
TIm replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionAny community pushing for this is a positive right now I think. If Dublin is out there yelling "give us public transit", that's better than literally any other local municipality or Columbus itself. It's really good to see any community public taking a stance on it though, that's the biggest news here imo.

Newark: Developments and News
TIm replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionLicking County is just raking in the wins recently! I wouldn't be too worried about the upkeep, it's 19 year olds using riding mowers on summer break haha. The entire place barely had any facilities staff, it was like one guy and a few rotational hires. Source: my brother was one.

Columbus: Franklinton Developments and News
I'm not sure if "need" was the correct word here haha.

TIm replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI believe Franklinton east of 315 technically is downtown now as well.

If there was ever a time to test out a new concept called Flavortown.... this is the opportunity.

New Albany: Ohio One (Intel Semiconductor Facility)
The preparation work is more than likely the most time consuming part of the project by a large margin. Gotta make sure everything is perfect because it'll be VERY costly to fix once there is a massive building on top of the problem.

Columbus: Zoning Discussion
I mean.... it's not that dramatic lol. it's just a street that's kinda busy at some times. Pretty quiet out there when I walk to lunch and it's an absolute ghost town on weekend mornings it's amazing.

Columbus: Zoning Discussion
Right there with you! Clintonville has more residents than the rich people in mansions on North Broadway. They've just got way more pull than us silly renters and small home owners.

Johnstown: Developments and News
I heard that the New Albany Company is creating or has created a new subsidiary called The Johnstown Company to make themselves appear as if they are local to the area and not one of the dozens and dozens of companies owned by a billionaire.

Columbus: Scioto Peninsula Developments and News
I don't even live downtown and even I'm gassed up about this grocery store.

Are they finally building that 1000ft tower and holding the penthouse to gift to a lucky member of this forum?

Johnstown: Developments and News
You got it! And it stinks when the local officials think of 20 years as "the distant future". In planning terms, that's basically tomorrow.

Johnstown: Developments and News
Exactly. Aggressive plans to properly account for the rapid growth are needed. If the powers that be sit on their thumbs and do nothing, they'll have some really pissed off locals sooner rather than later when there's now 35min of traffic getting in and out of Johnstown because they never wanted to upgrade the infrastructure or something.

Johnstown: Developments and News
Johnstown is a city that likes to do it right though. They are one of the few towns in Licking County that has been proactive about development and planning for the future well before the arrival of Intel. There massive projects in recent years was building all new schools so it's def a sore spot for them that they JUST built all of these school and they might be over capacity 5 years later. It was a massive project for them.

Johnstown: Developments and News
They own a ton of land in the county and have been buying anything they can in recent years. Guy who runs the show over there really knows what he's doing.

Johnstown: Developments and News
I've been wondering when some big potential development in Johnstown was going to be announced! Something was bound to happen eventually, Johnstown is just too perfectly situated to be a hub for Intel suppliers and a prime area for the employees of Intel and all the other support businesses in the area to live.

Would this Kroger be our most urban full grocery store in the entire city? Has such a suburban setup still.

Columbus: Random Development and News
Why are you calling them a "homeless restroom"? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Do you know what the homeless, or actually anyone really, uses for a restroom when there isn't a toilet available? They use alleyways and bushes.

Newark: Developments and News
TIm replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI hope they are successful but... good luck to them lol. Hope they install security cameras first.

Newark: Developments and News
TIm replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionSo this is that old church right on the other side of 16 just outside downtown? Awesome to see something positive happening with it, but I don't think that area is ripe for a fancy venue just yet. They're like 10 years too early. It's such a weird area, you've got some of the nicest homes in Newark intermingled with meth labs.
