  1. Well that's a pretty cool looking parking garage. Love how it's going to match the ascetic of the stadium. That area really is going to be cool as hell when it's done.
  2. There are so many unique and interesting ways too incorporate a drive thru that doesn't involve surrounding a building with asphalt.
  3. Email sent! If I knew how to copy gifs into here this sentence would be a gif from Starship Troopers.
  4. Dahlia always has a nice variety of acts coming through for very affordable prices. Other than that the place kinda sucks though. It's so cramped, you have to shove through the entire crowd to get to the bathroom and more and more of the floor space kept getting reclaimed for VIP seating. Was very easy to go see shows there though.
  5. I have a feeling it will be a little more spread out than this. Just depends if Intel is hiring a lot of young people early in their careers/fresh out of school or a lot of people who have established themselves in the industry and are raising families and all that. School districts may play a huge role in where people decide to live and if that's a factor you can take Columbus and Newark off the table for some and those people would lean more towards communities such as Granville and New Albany.
  6. I was really happy to see in all the feedback that downtown area commission (or whatever downtown related group of decision makers it was) noted the need for a grocery store downtown was high on a lot of peoples lists. I know it was my #1 thing when I submitted feedback and I don't even live downtown!
  7. To be fair Pataskala has been fairly proactive recently in trying to make some changes to the way they do things to encourage development while not putting the burden up making updates to infrastructure exclusively on the town. They are kind of going from a "probably not here" to an "absolutely here and this is how it will be done" area and I'm all about that. Not just allowing to developers to come in and run all over them, they want development to stay in line with certain expectations. I think they may have recently done a major review of the zoning regulations? Maybe someone else can confirm.
  8. At this point you'd be right more often than you'd be wrong! If anyone is taking bets, I'll put some down on Mini-Sheetz or even just a Sheet.
  9. 30 minutes is too far of a commute for me but I consider 8 hours to be close for personal trips haha. All about perceptive I guess!
  10. That parcel would make for an awesome little pocket park! Get it landscaped well, add some seating, shaded areas maybe a little water feature. But for 750K I bet they don't do that haha.
  11. The distances people are willing to drive to work are insane. I know people who live in Mansfield and commute to Zanesville.... 3 hours of driving every single day!
  12. So I use to work for the health department which is walking distance from those apartments we were previously discussing. I'm mentioning this because I drove up and down King Road at least 4 times a day, if not more, 5 days a week for 3 years so I'm intimately familiar with all the traffic concerns of this particular area because I was forced into them on a weekly basis. That connector road to 21st Street would be an absolute game changer!!! Right now we have where King and Goose Pond meet, which is honestly a super unsafe blind corner for people driving south on King and it can be a little nervy taking a left onto King from Goose Pond because people whip around that corner. Things can get backed up here super easily with people getting stuck not being able to take a left onto King and cars stacking up on King right around that corner trying to take a left onto Goose Pond. Thankfully they eliminated the ability to take a left at the south end of King because that was a daily traffic nightmare. One car trying to go left could cause a 20 car backup. Your other option is to go all the way to the north end of King, take a right to go past COTC and then you're at the very north end of 21st, which is not where people generally want to go since all the shopping is further south near Goose Pond. Absolutely anything to add another connection from King to 21st Street would alleviate so many traffic choke points! And now to speak to the development of that site! Even if NASA stayed, there is a ton of other space in the immediate area for development. I'm honestly super surprised those two small fields are even still farmed because they held so much water after rain storms. Looked like an absolute nightmare. Obviously right where the soccer fields are is probably where you would want the road to connect to King, but I think the fields could safely be moved slightly further south. Assuming NASA owns the land, they should be hearing some proposals from prospective buyers and just make it a condition that they build them new fields/parking/concessions on the southern end of the lot.
  13. I'm fairly certain that older farm house right at the bend is who owns all that property. Would be immediately left of the photo of the lot you just posted. It is absolutely prime time real estate, and there are a surprising number of good sized lots like this hidden around the Newark and Heath areas. The longer they hold out, the more money they'll get out of it though! If they actually develop the land behind the 21st Street Walmart (which is just a bit further south down this road) as well I would imagine this lot would only become more valuable.
  14. I'm fairly certain they own the smaller plot of land directly adjacent to the existing apartments. That lot across the way is privately owned though. Unless that lot has sold it certainly won't be there. It's a really nice kinda hilly lot, would be surprised if they sold it.
  15. That's all I can see, especially for this development here. The comments on Reddit about this are all "I don't want apartments going in there!" and then nobody can cite an actual reason why other than the typical traffic, parking, taxes, utilities etc. that get raised whenever any development is proposed anywhere. I didn't have much of an opinion on Worthington before, but now I don't really have a good opinion on Worthington as a community after seeing all these comments from Worthington residents.
  16. Having the "you can't make change in my town!" mentality when you live inside 270 just makes no sense to me. Either start planning for development now or become a rich person exclusive community where the homes all start at 7 figures and have huge yards. Anything else will probably result in a decline for the town.
  17. Thank you very much! I know there weren't a lot of businesses in there, but being shuffled over to Union street is an insane location downgrade. It really isn't a nice area. That gas station right across the street from the building they are in got robbed like 10x when I lived in the area. Use to see a lot of drugged out people wandering around there as well.
  18. If anyone could post the highlights from todays article in the Newark Advocate about the Arcade Mall renovations getting their tax credits it would be much appreciated! I'm all out of article views and I'm not savy enough to get around the pay wall.
  19. Apparently there are stipulations in their where if Intel does not maintain certain criteria or hit certain goals, they won't get some of the money. At least they tried to build something in to hold them accountable. And honestly the half of that which is for infrastructure will benefit a lot of people as well which is nice, even if we are paying for it. Improvements on 161 in NA have been necessary for years, glad something finally gave them them a swift kick to make it actually happen.
  20. Gives the developers a little more time to drop off unmarked envelopes full of cash to a few ODOD decision makers. They apparently weren't happy with the original tributes they received.
  21. The Arlington Gateway project took ages to get shovels in the ground but since then it seems they've been making some pretty steady progress.
  22. I hope you're right because that color looks ugly as hell in the rendering!
  23. I hope they don't go with the "cheap tarp blue" color. I don't know why, but this particular shade of blue just makes it seem like it's not finished.
  24. Would be cool to have more areas in the city that are like this and both easy to live in or visit. There should be more incentive to visit other parts of the city for extended periods of time other than the Short North, Easton and the Arena District when there are events. Nowhere else is it as easy to park and head out on foot to eat, shop etc. for 4+ hours.
  25. I don't think "Heartland" was specific to Ohio at all, more so bringing manufacturing back to the midwest. This one just happens to be in Ohio.
