Columbus: Linden Developments and News
TIm replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI hope everyone living in Columbus appreciates how spoiled we are in this city when it comes to grocery stores. I have never been anywhere else with as much variety of quality grocery store options. Even my boss who now lives in Chicago still raves to me about how much better the grocery options are here in Columbus.

TIm replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionEverything you dislike is exactly what I like about it lol. We complain when things are too boring then also complain when they are too eccentric! Nobody will ever be happy!

Columbus: Italian Village Developments and News
TIm replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI love it. In a time where everyone is making bland 6 story squares, at least someone is trying to do something unique and interesting. It's very provocative, it gets the people going.

New Albany: Ohio One (Intel Semiconductor Facility)
"Don't be a cheerleader for failure" Literally couldn't have said it better! I'm 100% stealing this saying haha.

New Albany: Ohio One (Intel Semiconductor Facility)
The people actively rooting for this to fail truly are something else. Just makes no sense to me to be so pessimistic about something you'll never have close to all the information about to be able to determine what will happen one way or the other. Like you can just sit back and watch and hope it works out, but there's an entire contingency being vocal about it failing for some odd reason. Why would anyone in Central Ohio root for this to fail?

Canal Winchester: Developments and News
Exactly. That term can be applied to buildings, parcels, blocks, neighborhoods and you see the terminology a lot in relation to zoning when discussing zoning at the broader citywide level.

Columbus: Downtown: The Estrella / 199 E. Rich St
Some of my favorite buildings are essentially giant boxes. Sometimes giant boxes look cool, I personally always appreciate the symmetry of some nice 90° angles.

Columbus: Polaris Developments and News
TIm replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionYeah anyone who complains about parking in downtown Columbus, I'm not listening to whatever comments they're following up with. It's so easy to park downtown, and hopefully as the years progress there is less and less incentive to even drive a car downtown. I come from a city where event parking was $80+ so even the most convenient parking near whatever event you're going to in Columbus is still cheap in the grand scheme of things and you have so many super cheap and free options also available to you. It's not the cities fault if you're too lazy to walk more than a few blocks. Cities are for people not for cars.

Columbus: Old North Columbus Developments and News
I saw someone on Reddit mention you will get an automated response back when you email them but that is normal. Someone is seeing all of these, compiling them and saving them for the meeting when this proposal is presented.

Columbus: Downtown: The Estrella / 199 E. Rich St
Is this to launch the hotdogs up to me on the roof or to launch me with my hotdogs onto the roof? Either is fine.
-
Columbus: Downtown: The Estrella / 199 E. Rich St
I wonder how easy it would be to get a hotdog downstairs and then consume it on the roof.

We get a tall building AND hotdogs?!?! That's a win-win in my book.

Columbus: Polaris Developments and News
TIm replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionDon't park in the garages! Street parking is way cheaper and super easy on the app and it's free on Sunday. There are also a lot of areas with free street parking but those are disappearing slowly.

TIm replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThis is the most "I live in the suburbs" comment I've ever seen on here. And it's like $1 to park downtown.

Heath: Developments and News
Heath and Newark are pretty accepting of change based on my experience living there for 3 years and working for the County government during that period. They love getting new stuff. I'm sure they are gassed up about the possibility of a Waffle House going in on 79 right now. I have seen an insane amount of change in that area since I moved to Ohio in 2016, there's new stuff every time I go back which is often.

Columbus: West Scioto Area Developments and News
I lived on the first floor of a development like this for a few years. It was nice being able to keep an eye on your car with ease, but there was nothing worse than someone sitting in a parking spot at night with their headlights blasting directly into your bedroom. Real fun stuff!

New Albany: Ohio One (Intel Semiconductor Facility)
Yeah this thing is getting built one way or the other, anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves.

Sensationalized journalism to get clicks. Full of "coulds, maybes and possiblys". Post something when there is actual real information and not speculation.

Columbus: Downtown Developments and News
Is The Char Bar a parcel that was intended to be developed but that particular portion was slated to be saved? If so, I'm ready to start spinning a conspiracy tale. It was a targeted attack by the developers! Guy wasn't drunk, he was sober and hired to smash into that building so the developers can get the building condemned, demolish it and build whatever they want!

Upper Arlington: Developments and News
TIm replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThis is the type of local lore we need more of! They're trolling Upper Arlington from the grave and the town is just like "sounds good!". I can't wait to share this with anyone who will listen. If you hear someone out in public telling the Fancyburg story, come say hello.

Columbus: Downtown Developments and News
I mean, I'm not sure how a pool or gym on the 2nd or 3rd floor of a rent controlled low income apartment building is going to generate any money. The only money generating thing I've ever found in these buildings, aside from the rental units, are a few vending machines. They are usually quite barebones when it comes to amenities and even have more of a dorm room type vibe inside, at least in the older ones I had to visit in Newark.

But gathering areas don't generate income for the landlord! And let me say, I really hate that this actually makes sense as a justification lol.
