  1. The fact that renderings of the massing models were mistaken for architecture, and drove a lot of people's opinions, is lost in this mess.
  2. That sign is one of my least favorite things about Milwau... I mean, Cincinnati.
  3. They really should have incorporated a Burger King on a Plinth into the design to honor the history of the site.
  4. that's great news. Race St. living up to its name in that render.
  5. My read on these billboards are that he's behind all of the accidents in the first place. And perhaps some other crimes.
  6. They needed a branch. And the building looks like a castle.
  7. not a bad fit...but I have to wonder what in the world kept this from being the original footprint? It seems, and maybe I'm just seeing what I want to in the media, that a public push for density is catching on.
  8. and with a view into GABP.
  9. Yes, but they are very much alike in the area that I was...careful to mention. Bad quality...but popular.
  10. yeah, I misunderstood Perkins and Will's role and thought they were designing lot 24. A new master plan makes little sense, given the footprints that have been literally poured into the ground, unless they want a rethink of the middle?
  11. Is Zara really that big a deal? pretty cheaply constructed clothes in my experience. Euro-Old Navy.
  12. I'd say fourth rate. Perkins and Will design high quality buildings.
  13. That's...pleasantly surprising.
  14. the mansard roof is hilarious. and... who is that academic giant with the stun gun?!
  15. We were just at Vine Chairsstand last weekend and were surprised that they hadn't changed the sign.
  16. already one too many of those downtown...
  17. that seems like a no-brainer. The only explanation I can think of for not addressing it is that the park is just a placeholder for expansion...except that it appears they're putting significant money into the design?
  18. Shame the building that actually sits on it isn't built for it. at all.
  19. "And this is the spot where I lined up for Star Wars"
  20. A venue that is hermetically sealed from the outside, on that piece of real estate, is a waste of a good resource. The river means something completely different to the city than it did in the 60s/70s. Get rid of the last vestige of that indifference and put something there that embraces the city and the river.
  21. Would rather have that hotel in the Kroger lot. Especially since it works perfectly to hide hotel-essential parking below Taft grade.
