Hopefully we see evidence of this money being spent sooner than later.- Cleveland: East Side Neighborhood Development
I agree. The "why" is because this decision was made before this area of the opportunity corridor was completed and planned, and given the inefficient way our bureaucracy works it's easier to spend money and ask for more than to decline funds and ask for more.- Cleveland: East Side Neighborhood Development
That section of E79 from the tracks north to the opportunity corridor is dilapidated. As project Boron hopefully starts in the next couple months I think the city needs to make sure that sidewalk is fixed up and welcoming, but we all know it won't happen. I personally think the station should have been moved to the intersection of the opportunity corridor and tracks, where the bridge is just a couple blocks west and where the state already owns land.- Cleveland: Hotel Development

cuyahoga county airport in Richmond heights is 5100' burke is 6200' richmond airport has the ability to extend the runway thousand feet in either direction (across richmond, or into lake county) richmond heights is less than 10 minutes farther away from cleveland clinic than burke, by helicopter it's a 2 minute difference richmond is only 20 minutes away from downtown, burke still requires a quick taxi richmond is closer to the 271 corridor and Amazons it's really a no brainer to pose this question to the county (and lake county) and make a regional push toward expanding and utilizing richmond heights airport. unless you live in richmond heights. anyways, renderings are floating around for the proposed event facility on north marginal and are really cool. i'm surprised they haven't been published anywhere yet.- Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
The city planning staff is develops and enforces standards. Cleveland has issued RFP's for private development in the past and the results are that developers come back with requirements that exceed the city's budget. Until the City can raise more money by convincing additional government entities to subsidize private development they're probably wasting their time.- Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News

Euclid Frontage could cause issues with Cleveland's Pedestrian Retail Overlay (PRO) requirements and the new building is in an "K" area district which means the maximum gross floor area can be built upto 6 times the lot area. Some adjacent lots are zoned less dense and may require variances and may go against long term planning by the city. Both sides of euclid east of 86th allow up to 250' tall buildings, but west of 86th steps down to 175'. Based on the square footage the Neurology department probably wanted you'd end up with an even bulkier mass on Euclid. The PRO concerns also may apply for Cole Eye expansion choosing to eliminate surface lot versus greenspace mentioned above and Bibb's desire for more Greenspace visible from Euclid.- Cleveland: University Circle: Cleveland Clinic Developments
