Hopefully we see evidence of this money being spent sooner than later.- Cleveland: East Side Neighborhood Development
I agree. The "why" is because this decision was made before this area of the opportunity corridor was completed and planned, and given the inefficient way our bureaucracy works it's easier to spend money and ask for more than to decline funds and ask for more.- Cleveland: East Side Neighborhood Development
That section of E79 from the tracks north to the opportunity corridor is dilapidated. As project Boron hopefully starts in the next couple months I think the city needs to make sure that sidewalk is fixed up and welcoming, but we all know it won't happen. I personally think the station should have been moved to the intersection of the opportunity corridor and tracks, where the bridge is just a couple blocks west and where the state already owns land.- Cleveland: Hotel Development

cuyahoga county airport in Richmond heights is 5100' burke is 6200' richmond airport has the ability to extend the runway thousand feet in either direction (across richmond, or into lake county) richmond heights is less than 10 minutes farther away from cleveland clinic than burke, by helicopter it's a 2 minute difference richmond is only 20 minutes away from downtown, burke still requires a quick taxi richmond is closer to the 271 corridor and Amazons it's really a no brainer to pose this question to the county (and lake county) and make a regional push toward expanding and utilizing richmond heights airport. unless you live in richmond heights. anyways, renderings are floating around for the proposed event facility on north marginal and are really cool. i'm surprised they haven't been published anywhere yet.- Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
The city planning staff is develops and enforces standards. Cleveland has issued RFP's for private development in the past and the results are that developers come back with requirements that exceed the city's budget. Until the City can raise more money by convincing additional government entities to subsidize private development they're probably wasting their time.- Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News

Euclid Frontage could cause issues with Cleveland's Pedestrian Retail Overlay (PRO) requirements and the new building is in an "K" area district which means the maximum gross floor area can be built upto 6 times the lot area. Some adjacent lots are zoned less dense and may require variances and may go against long term planning by the city. Both sides of euclid east of 86th allow up to 250' tall buildings, but west of 86th steps down to 175'. Based on the square footage the Neurology department probably wanted you'd end up with an even bulkier mass on Euclid. The PRO concerns also may apply for Cole Eye expansion choosing to eliminate surface lot versus greenspace mentioned above and Bibb's desire for more Greenspace visible from Euclid.- Cleveland: University Circle: Cleveland Clinic Developments

https://fb.watch/fQniroNGb1/ edit: i see a couple confused reactions, you probably didn't watch the video... at 0:35 they explain that they purchased the historic McKinley school and are renovating it. kind of a big deal for a quickly growing tuition free school that educates kids all day in chinese/spanish and a neighborhood that's growing.- Cleveland: Campus District
Keep in mind a huge percentage of families in the Central neighborhood do not have cars and St. Vincent's is convenient. It's the same reason why people in Lakewood and Cleveland heights (and now Bedford and Richmond heights) were so pissed off when they lost in-patient services... you can tell someone "oh just drive to avon or mayfield or beachwood or downtown"... the reality is we're very fortunate to have that option, but some are not. St. Vincent also hosts addiction and urgent care services which targets neighboring areas. I agree that I personally would likely never go there and it's unsustainable in our society's healthcare model, but it served an important purpose for 150 years and the hospital system was double the size it is today just 3 years ago.- Cleveland: Random Development and News
census estimate shows it still dropped in 2021 😥... but 2022 is definitely the year we turn things around https://www.census.gov/quickfacts/clevelandcityohio- Cleveland Heights: Development and News
Even so - I'm assuming that the city proposed a spacing and location for the bollards. Mounting a relatively cheap guardrail across those bollards would inconsequential at worst. In looking at googlemaps, I'm wondering if the real reason is where the city proposed the bollards/stones in comparison to the sidewalk. I could see where the city would recommend those items be placed on the lawn, and the home owner saying the should be placed on the treelawn at the curb. It would make more sense for the city to call that treelawn guardrail location as being ineffective- Cleveland Heights: Development and News

For a variety of reasons I would find it very difficult to believe that anyone would be relocated to Cleveland for a riverfront or lakefront design. Bi-Monthly travel for meetings - yes. Relocation - no. Those long term projects just couldn't justify relocation at this point. I would more likely believe the individual is working on a project that is starting or underway. I would also assume that this individual brings to Cleveland either a unique talent which required them to be relocated or just be part of an organization that normally doesn't work in the area - for example there are many Korean and Japanese individuals temporarily working as project managers in Lordstown right now. A "game changer" to such individual would more likely include major technology advances than providing Clevelanders with a boardwalk. That said, I've heard coffee shop owners describe their new menu items and outdoor seating as "game changers" for the neighborhood. So it's my prediction that our Cleveland Mystery Guest will be opening a new Boba tea café at tower city's lush new plastic flower garden in the upcoming months.- Cleveland: MetroHealth Medical Center
