Columbus: Downtown Developments and News
I know that I'm probably alone on this, but I like those types of buildings from the 50s and 60s. I also don't like how much post war buildings are so easily erased. I like seeing the mixture of eras in cities.

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
Unfortunately, there likely will be more of this because of the b u l l s h i t tariffs.

Sundance Cincinnati
I bet if the state GOP leaders were simply old school Republicans who would jump through hoops for any economic gain, Cincinnati could have pulled this in, but as it stands, the bat s**t crazy no doubt scared many away.

NASA Headquarters Relocation
Moving a federal HQ should be thought out carefully and I don't trust this administration to think out anything. While this would obviously be great for Ohio, I just am concerned with all of the arbitrary BS that Trump incorporate is doing or consider doing.

2026 Ohio Statewide Races
For what it's worth... @IAPolls2022 2026 Ohio Governor poll by @ppppolls for 314 Action (D) Amy Acton: 45% - V. Ramaswamy: 44% V. Ramaswamy: 48% - Tim Ryan: 42% 642 RV | February 19-20 | 642 RV It's extremely early, but disconcerting. She's essentially tied and Ryan ain't looking good. The election is a political eternity from now, but still...

2026 Ohio Statewide Races
I do think that Vivek being the nominee is best for Democrats. The fact is that he'll surpress some R votes. I was talking to a conservative friend last fall and he openly said that his conservative parents don't like Vivek and while I would like think to it's because he's a bulls**t grifter and sleazy... no, it's racial. I do wonder if Tressel would care to run at his age, but if he does run, he likely would win... and that would be the best bad option I suppose.

Ohio Census / Population Trends & Lists
Youngstown is not "raking in domestic migration." It had a gain though. Columbus only lost a little domestically and gained significantly overall in migration.

Ohio Census / Population Trends & Lists
I was looking at the components of change and while this is a minor consolation, but it's worth noting in some areas that domestic migration is actually positive (even if small) in areas with overall population losses. What's striking is that among them are Youngstown and Steubenville - these areas have natural decline for decades and that's still a huge problem (there and increasing in a lot of the country), but Youngstown gained 2,800 people migration wise this decade. It had a net lose of 4,700 because deaths are double that of births. For many years though, migration was a loss as well. Steubenville is a small metro. Its migration gain was well under a 100 during this period, but again, usually it's a decline. For many areas, births propel the area, but again, the deaths are hard to overcome. This impacted Akron too. I haven't look at all of the metros though.

Miscellaneous Ohio Political News
It's not like somebody just throws an amendment up for a vote. It's a process itself. Given the nature of actually get it on a ballot, I don't see 50+1 as a problem.

Ohio LGBTQ+ News
Maybe if the GOP who controlled the state actually attempted to attract talent and create jobs, but it's pretty s**tty at that and worse, they don't seem to care to do that. They manufacture outrage to get votes from their base. Rinse. Repeat. No need to govern in any meaningful way or improve the state.

Ohio LGBTQ+ News
Ohio's issues transcend this, yes, but this in no way helps. This isn't 1990, or even 2000. Younger professional Americans have strong views that disagree with these policies, greatly. Does that mean they wouldn't accept a job offer? Maybe not, but Ohio needs people to look to Ohio as a place to want to live and help build a pipeline. I don't see how this helps. All things being equal, states that pull this s**t, are hurting themselves.

Ohio LGBTQ+ News
Aside from the GOP's cruel and cynical politics with all that they're doing... their BS social crusade is in no way helping a state that needs to attract business and talent. I guess that they don't care. They push hate in this gerrymandered state knowing that's how they maintain power and can grift, but jfc. This bad on so many levels.

Ohio Abortion / Reproductive Health News
That's the thing though, they aren't Christian. Their policies are counter to that of the Gospel. They are like Archie Bunker. They wouldn't know what Jesus said if it were readily available in a book that was discussed every Sunday. They like the branding and cosplay though.
