  1. Maybe renovation was too strong a word... anyways there are workers in there, and the property manager just told me that the new tenant is in the architecture/design business.
  2. There was some reno action going on this morning in the vacant first floor office space of 1235 W. 6th (The Hat Factory building). Would love to hear if anyone knows what's happening there-- I'll follow up if I find anything out.
  3. There's a pop-up art gallery/museum opening in the first floor of the Bowery starting on 5/27. Not a development per se, but a cool way of attracting interest in the space. It's put on by Curated Storefront, an arts non-profit whose goal is development of downtown Akron. It's free but you have to sign up for a time slot: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/clayton-baileys-world-of-wonders-opening-extravaganza-tickets-153861729575?aff=ebdsoporgprofile
  4. I hadn't noticed from pictures/renderings but in person I saw that there are garage-door-style windows on the second story as well as the first. I'm a huge fan of this and hereby formally declare dibs on a table in that corner. (Picture is about a month old FYI, taken from the boardwalk side of the building)
  5. No one asked my opinion but, in keeping with an analogy upthread, and as someone obsessed with maps and aerial perspectives, I'm personally completely satisfied by the impressive girth of this project and not concerned with the length, which is at least average.
  6. I remember seeing a while back that new forumers couldn't post links so I'm not sure if this will work, but renovation of the Perry-Payne space mentioned above is for a new restaurant called Filter from Kyler Smith who owns The Sauce Boiling Seafood Express: https://www.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2020/12/29/filter-restaurant-to-bring-high-energy-dining-and-nightlife-to-the-warehouse-district-in-spring
  7. Hate to be a buzzkill in my first post after lurking in the forum for almost a decade, but the Pickard Chilton Instagram post sure seems like it's from a pre-COVID photoshoot. Would they have been working on relevant SHW HQ details that long ago? I live on W. 6th, I will chime in if I see any interesting drilling locations.
