Sat on that magnificent patio back in July and got to meet the owner, who said he was the son of the previous owner. He seemed excited about the future and even commented how he wasn't going anywhere.

I was referring to the first picture posted. Between the two main buildings. To me, those look steps, trees, benches, pedestrians and even a food truck. Not a parking lot.

After seeing @MayDay pics, I was excited and surprised to see the progress NRP group is making on their project, so I went back to some renderings to get a refreshed look on the project. I see good things and some bad things. The good is the actual development, I can't complain much about that. The courtyard between the two buildings is really nice and the townhomes are fine. As far as the two main structures, does anybody else just look at them and think "suburbs, meh, oh well I'll take it"?

The site the Haslam's want on the east side by the muni lot is the perfect location IMO for lots of reasons. It is very similar to what they did with the US Bank Stadium in Minnesota, one of, if not the most revered and liked stadiums in the NFL.

I agree with @sooner. Gilbert did not buy this property to have it a parking lot. But makes sense to make some money off of it while whatever plan he has is still on the drawing board and in planning phase.

This funding issue of theirs is becoming a joke. At this point they should consider walking away and selling the lot to someone else.
