  1. Annapolis, unfortunately the capital of Maryland. I had high expectations of this place. After hearing good things about it, noticing it is between two awesome cities and one of my favorite estuaries, knowing they have an intact downtown or whatever...something was just mediocre about it to me. Perhaps it is because colonial georgian architecture doesn't do much for me, or maybe because I just have become too jaded to be impressed with a place as small as this. The post office is nice though. Congratulations Annapolis, if you were a county seat in Ohio, you would be in my top 75 almost assuredly. Now it is time to fire cannons at you until you change the capital to Baltimore. If you must keep thatstyle of architecture, this Baltimore building should be good enough. Balitmore has good buildings. Well, most of them at least. According to locals, this is the real Washington monument, not that silly thing in D.C. At this point, I have no idea what is happening anymore. I'm shall now go swimming for an extended duration. Hi, HI. I did not wish to spend too much time taking pictures here, my time was short and didn't bring my camera. Hi, HI capitol. Bye, HI.
  2. For this, a rivertown is where the river was the main street. Cleveland I list as a square after looking at probably too many old maps. It looks to me like the four squares around the Superior and Ontario intersection area was the defining point. There just so happens to also be a huge lake, and a major river, really close by. Columbus I put as a square due to the huge square for the statehouse. High street is quite the significant street, but historically Broad street was even more so. All of the larger cities are difficult to categorize. Some of the small ones seem to be too, as there are squared intersections, random shapes, newer or destroyed areas, and some that seem to be everything all at once.

  4. Look in this thread by ink from a few years ago: http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,15484.0.html
  5. Lincoln, the capital of Nebraska ok, the title of having all the tall buildings in your CBD look the same has been switched from Battle Creek to here hey cool, somebody got a new second tallest tower Omaha, the if Akron Ohio didn't have any bigger cities in the state this is what I would imagine it would start to look like in some ways or whatever of Nebraska
  6. Trenton, the capital of New Jersey ...another one of the NJ cities close to Philadelphia Burlington, VT ...if Cumberland, MD and Seattle had a little baby and it moved to Vermont.
  7. Fostoria, Ohio There used to be some buildings to the left on this one. Train station. No more Amtrak :-( and here is a quick look at a patch of grass in the middle Tiffin, Ohio. To me, Tiffin is probably the best non-county-seat city in Ohio. This is only true because I no longer recognize Seneca county's right to exist.

I see that you have a question, but I am quite confused. What is it you are trying to figure out?

    yay!
  11. Montpelier, the capital of Vermont. The state capital with the fewest people living in it.
  12. Cool! I wasn't sure this place actually exists, but it looks like it does.
  13. Dover, one of the capitals of Delaware. Here is all of it: That doesn't seem like enough, so here is Wilmington, Delaware. It's not just one of Philadelphia's duckling cities. Now, a Dover do-over. There really is a town here, yay
  14. Augusta, the capital of Maine. Portland, Maine
  15. Des Moines, the capital of Iowa. Also, Kansas City
  16. Hartford, the capital of Connecticut. Also, here is Springfield Massachusetts, not the capital of Illinois.
  17. At least one of these cities is the capital of Tennessee. I present to you the paradox of Schrodinger's Capital. Within this thread are pictures two Tennessee cities, Knoxville and Nashville. The order has been randomized, and unless you already know the location of each picture, they could be from either one. As far as this thread is concerned, they might as well be both in one, and not in either.
  18. Jefferson City, the capital of Missouri. A small city, but they have more than 500,000 people if you count in base 6. Goodbye from Portland. No, forget that, Baltimore.

Topeka, the capital of Kansas. Don't expect much. Goodbye, says a St. Louis turtle.
