Article on the Greater Cincinnati dialect
...so since the appalachians were the earlier groups that came to columbus, and now the cleveland-pittsburgh area is where all the new people are from, that could really make the next generation of columbus people talk really funny

What Kind of American English Do You Speak?
actually, look under where it says that... 'naturally and artificially flavored SODA' ____ and breakfast is the first meal you have in a day, lunch is the meal in the middle of your day. supper and dinner aren't so straight forward, i usually say dinner for a formal situation, and supper if it is informal. but in my heart i believe that dinner is the term for the biggest meal you eat in a day. so, breakfast and lunch can easily be the same meal, if you don't eat in the morning. (or if you eat a huge meal at noon, it could be breakfast lunch and dinner all at the same time :) ) oh, and if you work nights like me, and wake up in the evenings, my breakfast is in the p.m., not when the sun comes up. oh, and my results were 80% General American English 15% Yankee 5% Upper Midwestern

Cleveland, what could have been...
I'm not sure I understand what you're saying well, cleveland sits on lake erie. it was built outward along the lakefront in both directions from downtown, but not away from the lake. if you picture a graph, where the x axis would be the shore, and everything below 0 is lake erie, cleveland's growth would look like: y< x2 strangely enough, cincinnati would look like y=x2, (y=x2 - 1 if counting northern kentucky) combine the two and it would be complete! 8-)
