  1. I believe George Post designed the Fenn Tower, Walter Ahlschlager is given credit for the Carew Tower, and the Cincinnati Gas & Electric Building is either John Russell Pope or Frederick Garber.
  2. It looks to me that the restaurant is the first floor of both the corner section and the middle section.
  3. Here is some Columbus 2014.The game is we are playing is No downtown, and no High Street. (A comparison to nine years ago)- See it while you still can…………………………
  4. Covington and Newport, Kentucky ...or Cincinnati (2014, part four) / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / ......................................................
  5. Good to hear that it wasn't hostile or anything. Still sad that it seems they have procedures for calling the deputies on tourists and architectural enthusiasts.
  6. a wonderful Pittsburgh neigborhood: South Side Flats (Carson Street...)
  7. some eastern Pittsburgh neighborhoods: -Bloomfield -East Liberty -Oakland
  8. Who approached you and told you that it was illegal to photograph that building? There is no veracity in such a statement. Hopefully our police department or county officers aren't suggesting such a thing to you. (By the way, go here and read just in case the future holds more nonsense told to you.) http://www.krages.com/phoright.htm
  9. Here are a couple of Pittsburgh's little city-friends: Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania Say goodbye to the Penn Lincoln Hotel... _________________________________________ Braddock, Pennsylvania -Home of the first Carnegie library. -Across the river from Kennywood -Population has dropped from ~20,000 to ~2,000 since 1920
  10. San Antonio, TX -Nice downtown area -Some big bright yellow thing in the sky was making things difficult, but whatever. (Way too many tourists standing in front of the Alamo, so no photo, but I did remember it.) (Also nothing of riverwalk thing...I'm not interested in taking pics of other people eating. It did seem like a neat little thing though.)

  12. For the last few months I've been using the 'Free Transform' tool. A combination of a few things contribute: -not being able to make the perspective-corrected image look right to me -some images I like how the non-corrected version looks without changing it -sometimes the correction causes too much of the image to go away (and occasionally I think I'm just being lazy.)

    Cool turtles!
  15. There were two days used. I'm not sure how to say how I planned it all out...I just went and visited some places I could remember in Cincinnati. I guess it would be many years of looking at maps, reading information about neighborhoods and historic places, looking at photo threads, and from visiting the city previously.
  16. (Part two -- eventually I'll get to downtown) Glencoe...
  17. CBD will most likely be part 3. Also, I'll probably put NKY in a separate thread in the City Photos - USA/World board.
  18. Just the first part...
  19. Definitely one of the best neighborhoods in our state. Nice work!
  20. The building at the SE corner of Gay Stret at High Street is surrounded by fire trucks. It smells like fire around the neighborhood, but I couldn't tell if there was any damage to the building. (11 East Gay)
  21. Street level interaction is far more important here than any design aspect of the tower.
  22. Marshall, TX population ~23,000 Hotel Marshall (1929) - renovation recently started Theater for sale: As with several cities in Texas, most of the land within the public square in Marshall has been converted to a parking lot surrounding the Courthouse. You can see my rental car in the distance, and not a single other... _____________________ Longview, TX population ~80,000. ____________________ Tyler, TX ~population 97,000 Plaza Tower (1980… not sure who designed it, but it sure looks like something SOM came up with) People's Petroleum Building (1932) ________________ ________________ Whatever, here is the Texas State Capitol to finish:
  23. Looks like a nice little city.
  24. Well, the main reason is because there are no human beings in these shots... -East Texas downtown regions make Youngstown look like a thriving boomtown. -I prefer my pictures to be of buildings, not people. Even if there actually were people out in these cities, I don't do what some people do, and make it a point to go out of their way and include them in the pictures. (Same thing for anywhere I go, not just abandoned cities like this.) If they happen to be walking along the street at the time, then they might be included, but I'm not going to stage my images to have people.
