Findlay, Ohio population: 38,967. the seat of hancock county. they named it after colonel james findlay, but the town spelled it with an e instead of an a from 1821 until 1870 when they realized their mistake. county named after john hancock, and a statue of him sits 130 feet above the 1833 courthouse. sits on i-75 in the northwest part of ohio. called flag city usa. home of marathon oil, the big gas company. the art deco lookin' midrise belongs to 'em. home of the ohio bank(now sky bank) and has the university of findlay. and a parking garage downtown, yipee! here we go now, the first city of the day the hancock county courthouse

  9. whoa...cool. i really like the suspension one too
  10. thats the best thing i've read all week. although i suppose we do actually need them, they could just build the capital square tower they planned years ago (build that on the parking lot right next to the old capitol.) although the gap you speak of isn't always visible, and new highrises on the capitol would block leveque from the southeast(my favorite angle) about key tower being out of place in cleveland, i think it fits in, and it could plan for the future. just like in 1930 how cleveland and columbus were with their only supertalls of the time.
  11. well it is interesting....is there a rendering for it that shows it on the river?

Y bridge the end

dayton was named after jonathan dayton, revolutionary war guy and signed the declaration. akron translate from greek meaning at the top, just like summit county means it too. akron sits at the top of the ohio and erie canal i would imagine alot of the names are named after the settlers of the place or after other cities
  15. go blue jackets!
  16. Bellefontaine, Ohio population 13,069. seat of logan county. often misspelled. has the first concrete street , also the shortest street (17 feet). close by is the highest point in ohio at mount campbell, 1550 feet. near some ski resorts, old castles and other historical bric-a-brac, such as blue jacket (the guy the hockey team was named after). i think almost everyone in bellefontaine is a hoosier (not meaning to offend the indiana people)
  17. Kenton, Ohio population 8,336. seat of hardin county.
  18. Marion, Ohio population 35318 county seat of marion county. its home to the popcorn festival, and a popcorn museum. president harding lived here and is buried here...courthouse...is now part of columbus csa (ridiculous!)...has a 'large granite stone in a cemetary that revolves without motors and only uses the movement of the earth'. they also have alleys dedicated to power lines going thru 'em.
