  1. wow.... Lovesit. are you mistaking elyria for compton or are you just a coward?
  2. Elyria just recently passed issue 7 which will be giving the city a brand new high school. With a new high school, this could have an affect on midway mall. it could be the first step into revitalizing the city and what it provides. And as for lovesit's quote about shutting it down, you need to take a closer look at the mall, because even with no enhancements, it is still a nice place to shop.

Elyria is a city in Lorain County, Ohio, at the forks of the Black River founded in 1817. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 55,953. It is the county seat of Lorain CountyGR6. Elyria was founded by Heman Ely and named partly after himself and his fascination with the Austrian province of Illyria, having been acquired by Napoleon in 1809 during Mr. Ely's visit to Europe [1]. The city is home to Lorain County Community College and the headquarters of Invacare and Ridge Tool. The Elyria High School Pioneer Marching Band is a source of pride for the community. source-wikipedia.com ------and yes that zoo is long gone, but the bear's ghost still remains

I'm glad you guys are interested in Elyria! I work a lot, but when I get a chance I will post some photos for everyone to see. I'll show you a side of Elyria (almost no one knows about). We have a great history and anyone living here should be proud.

With the latest censes poll, Elyria is the 13th largest city in Ohio. But yet it gets very little recognition. I live here and I see so much potential. Our shopping area(the midway mall section) is very nice and has increased dramatically in size over the past 5 years. We have the #1 ranked community college in the state(which by the way offers so much for such a low cost). And our downtown is pretty amazing considering the population of around 60,000 people. Nice new residential developments are being constructed at a good pace. And not to forget to mention we have an amazing park system(cascade park) with two beautiful golf courses on the outskirts of it, which allows a breathtaking scenary. I figured if Elyria is going to get any attention, I minus well be the one who gets it off foot.
