Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Twenty years ago, the initial North Coast Harbor project was completed—capping off the addition of a $10 million manmade inner lake.... Um, what? Are they trying to say the word "harbor?"

Anyone else think that the resurrection of the "Force" name was a brilliant move?

Nice. Can someone fill me in on what the cladding material is? Because it looks like cardboard lol.

Cleveland SC Soccer Stadium
I think that would be too small- they seem to need at least 400x400 for the small ones, and that space is 300 and some change square. The larger fields are more in the 600x500' ft range. Yeah....and if you want to attract more international matches you want the larger field. Agree with mrnyc wherever they choose it would be great to see a "soccer town" evolve there.

Cleveland SC Soccer Stadium
Once I had a whimsical idea for a stadium site, bookended by Tower Press and the Public Safety building. Unfortunately I don't think it would quite fit.

Cleveland SC Soccer Stadium
Lol I agree. Stadium in Ohio City, Detroit Shoreway, Tremont, Downtown, University Circle, Uptown, Little Italy, Edgewater = I'm buying season tickets. Stadium in Strongsville, Parma, Mentor, Shaker Heights, Westlake, Avon, Garfield = Cleveland has a USL team? This was the catch 22 with the original Wolstein MSL plan. He had the deep pockets, connections and the passion. But he would have sited the stadium somewhere southeast in suburban outlet mall land. The long 20 year delay for CLE pro soccer may well turn out as a blessing in disguise.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
^ Mayor Dennis Kuchinich, Mayor Tom Johnsom...haha. Otherwise a great article. I'd gladly pitch in right now to help with Ted's Midway Bike plan. And the Green Ribbon land bridge. Some excellent ideas for sure. Thanks for posting. Our city is too divided; access to our waterfront, in a word, sucks; and we desperately need public spaces for our personal and social health.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Ha! https://ftw.usatoday.com/2018/07/channing-frye-kevin-love-ucla-slippers-slides-punt-cavaliers-locker-room-video-funny-instagram https://thespun.com/news/lebron-james-kevin-love-extension-tweet Really glad for the K Love signing. I'm actually more excited for the Cavs now than I was last season. Sure we're going to lose the bandwagon fans and the glitterati, but bring on the underdogs! Lets see if these guys can win us some games.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
2000 More units! Better figure out a better traffic plan or truly integrate the water front line into the next phases. Traffic plan? What's that? Haha. Wolstein really hit on something in the article though. Downtown CLE needs to do much much more to be considered a "kid-friendly" place. There has to be something more than bars and restaurants around FEB. Anyhow, I'm cautiously optimistic that he'll be able to attract those young families that we have seen bolting for Solon or Westlake.

East Cleveland: News & Discussion
Just a reminder that East Cleveland isn't a neighborhood but its own city. But absolutely, still some outstanding architecture there.

Cleveland SC Discussion
Oh wow, I would so love for a return of the Cleveland Force. To me it makes sense to be on the phone with CSU on a shared facility right now. It would be telling to know which developers the Abrams family is talking with. Please no suburbs!!! I take it as a positive sign that they purchased those youth clubs already. Shows they are serious, and having an integrated youth club alongside a pro club is the right way to run a team...it also can have business advantages through sponsorship, forming a built-in fanbase, and providing additional employment opportunities for the (mostly) part-time pros in the USL. The facility sounds like the biggest question mark, and I agree that a partnership with CSU would make a lot of sense, although I'm not sure if CSU has any formal roadmap for investing that much in athletics(?). Another moonshot idea of mine is to see if a stadium could work as part of the Scranton Peninsula development. And the owner of the project could build a bar 500 feet from the stadium... not a bad idea. Would Scranton aka THUNDERBOLT! be too far from St. Ignatius? Hmmmm

^ I'm likely to get some flak here, but in the back of my mind I'd always be worried about the air quality in Tremont. Adults are one thing, but kids are a whole different story.

Cleveland: Festivals, Music Concerts, & Events
Postscript to Painesville Party in the Park--did you write these comments, surfohio? lol. wow, I thought my remarks were harsh, but apparently this really sucked this year. It started out with the first comment on facebook strategically posted just as it was about to start on Friday, and went downhill today. My apologies for promoting it :(. Maybe next year they should just rename it Festival of Cheesy Cover Bands, Part II I'm sorry the event sucked. But silver lining, I am glad to see some pushback against the cover bands. Nothing says "we are culturally irrelevant and out of the loop" more than a disproportionately high amount of cover bands. I could see it if NEO was some cultural desert. It certainly isn't. There are so many really good original acts plus up and coming touring bands that love playing in Ohio.
