Sure there's pressure, no doubt. I agree there is skill but I think it's more akin to reading into a poker player eyes because reaction time to the set kick is almost zero. In a lot of ways the goalie and player are just guessing, guess the wrong way and you lose, so it is mostly luck/randomness. Maybe you would prefer both teams shooting on an empty goal from like 70 yards away? That would be kind of cool. Or play the 2nd OT with no goalie. You gotta love hockey when they pull the goalie in desperation time.

Right, they play 120 minutes of nip and tuck soccer just to hope a goalie falls into the opposite direction of a set kick. Truly an awful way to end it. Hockey has experimented with three on three in OT to open up scoring chances. Not quite sure what the solution for FIFA is but PKs are just lame. Lame? PK's are freaking exciting as hell! It’s exciting because the result is almost completely random. But what’s the point of playing the previous 120 minutes just to decide a result by randomness? To me, lame. I can tell you though it's not random. It's skill along with, more importantly, who can handle the pressure. I can assure you that the PK situation at that level is an insane amount of pressure.

Cleveland Mall / North Coast Harbor Land Bridge Proposal OVERVIEW The Green Ribbon Coalition is proposing that the City of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County and other stakeholders consider the building of a land bridge from The Mall to North Coast Harbor versus other types of structures that have been put forth. This document presents design guidelines and a concept plan for a land bridge that the GRC is recommending for further study. Extending the Cleveland Mall northward from the 1903 Group Plan has been discussed for decades. However, the infrastructure separating the city’s civic center from its lakefront has been one of the city’s greatest land use challenges. (See figure 1) Over the years, a range of designs have been proposed combining different bridge and building structures to close this gap. Among these is the currently proposed cable-stayed bridge. Other cities are burying unsightly infrastructure while working to connect their city centers with their waterfronts. “Iconic” structures such as the proposed cable-stayed bridge are better suited where the features they traverse are meant to be highlighted, such as a river or sea channel. Cities like Chicago, Seattle and Philadelphia are capping their railways and freeways while re-connecting their downtowns with their waterfronts. Cleveland should to do the same. The City of Philadelphia has similar challenges as Cleveland with a freeway obstructing access to its historic waterfront along the Delaware River. Conceptual designs released in 2014 show where a proposed waterfront park will cap Interstate 95, reconnecting Philadelphia’s City Center with its riverfront. Profound. I always assumed you to be a gearhead. 327 is a popular Chevy engine. A buddy in high school had a 327 Camaro. He thought he could outrun the local cops. He couldn't. NBA free agents have a reputation for hating Cleveland. Not sure if that's actually true. If it makes you guys feel any better, the Warriors fans I work with are more haunted by the Cavs championship than they are happy for the Warriors three titles. Winning brings talent regardless of the franchise, the Warriors are proving it. Dan sounds like he wants to build this thing the right way. The national media is mocking him about building a champion but who ever thought even eight years ago that the long irrelevant Warriors would be the next NBA dynasty. Koby Altman is the unproven commodity now. His Lakers trade looks pretty poor but it was under the gun in a "WIN NOW" environment and the landscape has changed. Also, who knows how much of the trade was Dan himself. Willing to see where Altman goes from here. Dan deserves some blame. Those post-LeBron Cavs teams were so horrible.
