Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Just about once every game I see LeBron do something and say to myself "Jordan never did THAT."

Connecticut Western Reserve
You just reminded me of a book I read on the expansion of the western border into Indian territory. Essentially it was 300 pages of atrocities. But a lot information I never learned in school. That era of Pennsylvania must have been a lot like the Gaza Strip. ^^ I bought that cool "Firelands" historic map about 20 years ago in Port Clinton.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Must have a degree from Trump University.... Ouch! FYI this location was very close to being Taco Tontos. I never did make it in there when it was a simple beer and a burger place. Or when it was Arcadia (too fancy looking for my tastes).

Akron: Downtown: Development and News
The issue in this project has been the reputation of Akron, I'm sorry to say," Rybak said, when asked why he thought financing the project was difficult. That's sobering.

Wow. This building is gonna be yuge.

Are you insinuating that people wouldn't actually buy a Chevy Cruze?

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Why? There was one way in and one way out. 20,000 people all trying to get back on the freeway at the same exit was horrendous. I can't imagine what 80,000 people would be like. It was a terrible location for everybody with absolutely nothing else to do around there. The location did allow for fans to accurately predict exactly where their favorite bands would be hanging out. For the life of me I couldn't remember the bar's name. It was Barney Googles. p.s. KJP I used to watch the Cleveland Force on ESPN. My friends and I would tape their games (and the San Diego Sockers games too) on vhs and then watch after school. When I moved to Ohio I got to see so many Crunch games with my dad at Richfield. Those teams were so good. Then their big championship win at the Wolstein Center was maybe my best sports memory ever. So much fun!

Cleveland: One University Circle
Very calming natural tones inside. I'm wondering, how much room is there in UC for more developments of this scale?

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Interesting. Could the airport still function in some capacity?

Dee Haslam actually mentions something like that in the article.

Cleveland: Which Project Will Be Next and Why
Shame on you. Local developers aren't capable of bringing the vibe and spirit of South Beach to this city!

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Interesting. I'm looking forward to see what comes of this. Cautious optimism, if you will. Especially when I've long since given up on seeing a comprehensive Lakefront plan in my lifetime.

Isn't Eco-Village north of Lorain? Yeah, my bad. These are north of Lorain No worries. I wonder why Howard Hanna doesn't have them properly mapped? p.s. Pricey!

I like the booking, it's a good mix. I wish Edgewater Live didn't bring in so many cover bands.

Cleveland: Which Project Will Be Next and Why
I may be wrong, but I don't remember there being any official plan for that.

Ten comments. All critical of the NIMBY's.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I think you're onto something. He doesn't seem to be very knowledgeable about other players or teams...it's like his entire universe is: The Cleveland Browns.

San Diego. I would assume Salt Lake City also, but nope.

Cleveland: Which Project Will Be Next and Why
That's an interesting point. Like Short North much of Lorain is still intact. Should the new development along that stretch look new? I think you're right, the Short North would be a great template.

They do and yes, there is a historical precedent. Photo is too large but: http://www.shorpy.com/files/images/4a19388a.jpg Amywho, back to OTR... Are those streetcar wires going over and through the arches? What the? I'm certain they go under, it's just the perspective.

It's incredibly bad planning.

General Roads & Highway Discussion (History, etc)
I distinctly remember stopping my car for an elderly pedestrian who ready to cross Clifton at the "crosswalk." She looked at me like I was crazy, and emphatically and angrily waved me to "keep driving." Virtually nobody driving gives the pedestrians the right of way on Clifton. I probably did look crazy for actually stopping in rush hour traffic.

While I give it credit for providing more shelter than the bus stops, yeah, it's still terrible.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
At least they can't screw up how the building interacts with street. Their Flats buildings are foreboding.
