Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I've actually always seen it crowded. Then again I was far from a regular. It was more of a special occasion kind of place since I was on the west side. The place was open for 20 years, maybe they just want to retire? RIP Barking Spider, Coquette, original Big Fun and now La Cave.

Cleveland: Shoreway Boulevard Conversion
No doubt. But one of the major problems for Edgewater is the lack of public transit. When is the BRT going to stop there and help alleviate the traffic issues?

The fact that you or I can get there doesn't mean it's easy for others.

The firebombing was revenge from the leader of a violent drug ring that was thrown in jail. Joe was involved helping put the guy behind bars after they had done some pretty evil **** to some residents in Joe's ward near Clark ave. Wow. I'm surprised Scene Mag wasn't all over this.

My gf's 2008 AWD Subaru Forrester gets really good mileage. Then again it seems like one of the smaller crossovers available.

More access issues. It sure can be hard to enjoy the waterfront in this city lol. I don't see this changing anytime soon - at least not for events - until there's more north-south points of access, more on-street parking and of course better transit.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
But that just underscores the issue...everyone has their opinion of who is the undisputed "best guy." I'm ok with the Browns selecting Rosen, Darnold or Mayfield. We may figure out who the best player is in about 10-20 years. And then again maybe not because who was the best quarterback in the 1983 draft? Was it Elway or Marino or Kelly? Opinions STILL vary. If they have a “best” guy at 1 and 4 so be it. All I ask is don’t go crazy with trades,

Everyone remember when someone firebombed Cimperman's house? I wonder what the hell that was really about.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I'd be happy with the "safe" picks of Darnold and Chubb if he's still on board at 4. There's something about Darnold's personality that resonates with me. I dont' want to see a trade down for more picks. I think we're all sick of the Browns trying to outsmart all the other teams in the league.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Wow. Man, if Love could just show up on offense it would erase the need for all this heart wrenching drama. I feel like the real hope for this team ended when the bold Wade/Crowder/Rose experiment failed. But agree with KJP, IF we make it past Indy this yet-to-gel team with no discernible offense is again repping the East.

As a straight comparison of hard data seldom collected in so convenient a format, I think it's a very useful display. I suspect it will be a starting point for lots of studies. "Growth" is often a suspect comparative statistic. Not worthless, but not by itself proof of overall condition.

Sad news. Davey Nelson, former Cleveland Indians player, coach, broadcaster, dies at 73 CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Former Cleveland Indians player, coach and broadcaster Davey Nelson has died after a long illness. He was 73. Nelson, who will forever be remembered in Cleveland as the first base coach on the Tribe's two World Series teams in the mid-1990s, moved to the radio broadcast booth as part of a three-man team with Tom Hamilton and Mike Hegan from 1998-1999. With Nelson coaching first base, Indians leadoff hitter Kenny Lofton averaged 65 stolen bases per season from 1992-1996 and was caught stealing an average of 14 times. Omar Vizquel averaged 30 steals and nine times caught stealing from 1994-1997 with Nelson at first base. http://www.cleveland.com/tribe/index.ssf/2018/04/davey_nelson_former_cleveland.html#incart_m-rpt-1

Cleveland: Port Authority News & Info
I finally wore her down. Mrs. McDougal and I booked a cruise from Montreal to Detroit. The Cleveland stop is a Saturday 8AM arrival that departs at 9PM. There's an Indians game, but unfortunately it starts at 7:10PM. The boat gets to Detroit at 6AM on Sunday. The cruise line suggests a noon flight home. They must not think much of Detroit. Please take pics!!

Name your top 5 cities...
Yeah a few miles up the road in Laguna you see Lamorghini's and Maclarens on the street next to you. In San Clemente you see old hippies in VWs and young hippies in Honda Insights. It has a really nice walkable center spine that runs perpendicular to the beach, a great beach with a pier, and it's linked to the rest of Orange County and Los Angeles via a train that's right on the beach. Despite the stereotype of Southern California, San Clemente would be a relatively easy place to live car free. Love San Clemente! There is a Mexican restaurant there on the PCH that I guess Nixon used to frequent. I can't remember the name but have been several times. Great stuff! It's either El Adobe or Olamendi's. I haven't been to El Adobe, but Olamendi's is pretty good, and has some really crazy stuff on the walls.

Cleveland: Random Quick Questions
Be careful. You'll learn pretty quickly where you're in the most danger. I've found cars turning right on a red light without stopping is probably the most common issue. Also, people blaring their horn at you, for absolutely no reason at all. If the first one is the biggest danger that you're facing then part of the problem is you aren't following the rules of the road, or good cycling etiquette. You should be in the travel lane which means the cars in the turn lane wouldn't be able to turn in front of and cut you off, and you should be stopping at red lights, which makes them taking right turns on red moot even if they are on your left for some legit reason, like you being in a bike lane. I'm all for vehicular cycling, but you have to follow the rules if you do. And that is actually the safest way to ride. I'm talking about cars speeding by you on your right, when you're stopped and waiting at the light. Following the rules of the road can still get you killed.
