  1. So, those who thought you were now living in an underground bunker with Ragerunner were way off. Best of luck with the career change.
  2. This weeks message was great... "If you want to see a sellout Dean, just look in the mirror"
  3. Good thread idea! JPop? TheGOV? CCars?
  4. "Worst owner in sports? Dean Spanos...." FAA denies Dean Spanos’ request to stop banners from flying before Chargers games SAN DIEGO -- The banners that have been flown over the StubHub Center the past two Sundays have angered Los Angeles Chargers owner Dean Spanos, but it looks like there's not a lot he can do about it. Disgruntled Chargers fan Joseph MacRae bought a banner to fly over the stadium in Carson to send a message to Dean Spanos about how much San Diego fans detest the move to L.A. Recently, Spanos tried to stop it by contacting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and requesting a temporary flight restriction (TFR) for game days. However, the FAA only grants TFRs for stadiums and arenas that hold 30,000 or more, and since the StubHub Center capacity is under 30,000 -- the Chargers announced a sellout at 25,386 during their game with the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday -- the FAA will not grant the TFR. http://fox5sandiego.com/2017/09/28/faa-denies-dean-spanos-request-to-stop-banners-from-flying-before-chargers-games/
  5. Echo this. It's time that "the densest city between NY and CHI" start acting like it haha. Also I'd like to reiterate how much I like how Carnegie's plaza incorporates the existing building on Detroit. There's something magical about opening up old brick walls or bricked-over windows.
  6. I'm a bit torn. I thought Casto's building looked better. But like Carnegie's plaza design more. To me it looks more like a vibrant, large city. Though I imagine if they're going with the mid-rise, the "big city" visual aspect will be lessened significantly.
  7. I've been noticing this alot too lately, especially down in the Flats, both east and west. I'm hoping when the new pump house is built, it will help clear that up. Ditto for the new hood east of Battery Park. I'm sure it's not always the case, but when I chose to bike through there last week it wasn't a great decision.
  8. Good to hear things are still moving forward. Though I'm not sold on the viability of the movie theater. Crocker Park and Independence offer convenient parking. Being someplace in FEB at a given time is going to be a difficult proposition for the RTA-phobic majority.
  9. I was at a seminar and we had a similar issue with wifi freezing during that time. That's why I went outside actually. Should we move this to the conspiracy thread?
  10. I saw three of them swoop over downtown. Two of them appeared very close together. Not sure what type though, they were gone in a flash.
  11. Does anyone at this point in time care to name any colleges that aren't corrupted by athletics? In the 1800's Akron fired its coach, John Heisman, because he put winning ahead of everything else. The NCAA is simply a joke. It's laughable that they still try to put up this ridiculous facade that colleges are all about protecting their student athletes.
  12. ^ retail could have generated revenues for the authority. It's just a situation of bad planning that we are going to have to live with.
  13. Lakewood would gain influence beyond its current borders and would become part of a more competitive metro. Many Lakewood residents joke about giving Cleveland everything east of Bunts Rd. Ha ha, stick em with the poors and keep the rest! But what if instead Lakewood's wealthiest areas wanted to break off and form the Village of Lakewood Shores? Do sharing and togetherness become more fashionable in that scenario? If I call the cops in Lakewood they are at my house in approximately five minutes. Until Cleveland can get its act together with police response time I'd never seriously support any kind of merger.
  14. I wanted to give AmrapinVA a chance to sell this before I fled Lakewood for Rocky River lol.
  15. It was just bizarre that retail was never included. Maybe in the future?
  16. Can you predict how this proposed merger would affect the city services in Lakewood?

Virtually everyone was saying that the Indy game was a must-win situation. I'm not sure why though. I can not point to any area of the game which even remotely hinted that the Browns were better that the Colts in any measurable way. Plus the Colts were at home. Either Hugh Jackson is going to be afforded a few years to fix things or Haslem can blow it all up....again. You just can't keep replacing coaches. Now it's aggravating that they (Greg Williams especially) seem to have this arrogance which is absolutely undeserved, but all these guys think they're rocket scientists, so what can you do? I just know that more upheaval right now is not the answer. It's still way too early in the season to judge a team with a rookie QB surrounded by subpar skill position players.
  18. Is it done? Frontier does two waves of summer expansion. One is early, one is late. They haven't announced any new flights that start in May or June. I'm trying to figure out if Frontier is actually contracting long term. It's very unclear in this article. Agree the article is unclear on the matter, but I sensed a foreboding tone.
  19. The CLE-SAN nonstop was good while it lasted. I recently flew for 66.00 round trip. Darn. This is going to affect me personally.
  20. Kroenke would never allow the Raiders back in LA.
  21. Between the choices of Rams, Chargers and Raiders within Los Angeles the Chargers come in FOURTH, behind "Other." Let that set in for a minute.
  22. Cross posted to the "Glass Block" thread.
  23. Props to Green Ribbon (including some all star UO folks) for proposing an interesting alternative. I think the bridge is visually interesting but very much lacking in practicality. The bridge just doesn't seem to integrate well with the much needed NC Transit Center. By the way, glad to hear the purported support from Jackson, great news. I'll go ahead and dust off the Lakefront Convention Center proposal, because once I saw it that made it hard for me to settle for anything else.
  24. Nobody predicted this could happen. Oh wait, everyone predicted this. Kudos for LA football college football fans who are wisely supporting teams that have not ever, nor will not ever move away.

Fair, white people aren't immune from difficult situations as well, but one thing they will never be disadvantaged on is their race White kids in Hawaii are beaten up pretty regularly. Not trying to be argumentative, just that your comment is overly broad. Anyone can be subjected to and victimized by racial hatred.
