Cleveland sports talk radio
I actually liked Triv's show circa 1995 when it was 1. focused on sports and 2. emphasized Marty Allen, Paul Rado and Mike Snyder. This Golden Era lasted a year maybe? Then they brought in Kim to be like Robin on the Stern show, a foil of sorts. She had no knowledge of anything interesting and generally bad at radio. I also miss Kevin Keene. His 1100 postgame shows were always entertaining. "Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends...."

Agree. My theory is that radio tends to value existing listeners over trying to win over potential new listeners. It's a good recipe for a death spiral.

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
I'm sure there will be some redundancies in office and research staffs, but the point of this merger is to position the combined company for further growth. So any reductions in combined staffing may be short-lived. The Sherwin Williams charter requires that they keep the HQ within one mile of where the company was founded on the river. That is a little known tid-bit that I wish was more publicized, as it is a major indication of their commitment to our community. Interesting! I hope they can leave or at least open up their fenced-off riverside stronghold. That would also show a nice commitment to the community.

^ Sad. The last time I heard him on the air he did not sound well. Remember his theme music? Etched in my mind forever!

Cleveland: Edgewater Park
I wonder if this is a nationally televised event? This could be a really good look for the city. August 2018, that's plenty of time to make sure the place is in top shape. There sure was a lot of garbage on the beach last week. It's a constant issue, I'm afraid. Anyhow I miss seeing the city and the lake on tv for the Cleveland Grand Prix. I feel like the Metroparks step it up once we are "in season." And they are LIGHT YEARS ahead of the State of Ohio's maintenance. Agree wholeheartedly about the improvement of Metroparks. Also I should have specified that the vast majority of this trash are plastics from the river, lake and likely storm drains.

Keep your eyes on this little spot. Some of the Mahall's folks recently bought it!

It looks as if the window size is in deference to the existing building across the street.

Cleveland: Little Italy: Development and News
Is this zoning issue an indictment on conservatism or liberalism? When you want to change things back to the way things were? Maybe not everything can be fit into an overly simple definition lol. But seriously, if this thing is actually being held up by landlords it's kind of depressing.

Microdosing: The people taking LSD with their breakfast There is a small community of people in the UK who "microdose" - or take small amounts of psychedelic drugs as part of their daily lives. They say it boosts creativity and can have medicinal benefits, despite a lack of scientific research. On a table in his house in Durham, Simpa shows me a tab of LSD he has cut into about 10 pieces. The whole thing would be enough for a trip he says, but today he's taking just a tiny dose of it. On the days he does this, Simpa says it's just part of his morning routine. "I take it with a cup of tea, my toast and my vitamins," he tells the BBC's Victoria Derbyshire programme. http://www.bbc.com/news/health-39516345

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I'm jealous, in a way, of the GS fans last year. Their entire season up until game 7 was mass hysteria. Our last two years? Fragility and melodrama. Anyhow, it's gonna be great when they flip that switch [half-hearted clapping]. And we won last year.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I don't know a single person who thinks the Cavs will win again. They have been borderline unwatchable this season anyhow. This has not been a fun season. Then again, I'm personally still in a great mood, courtesy of last season's spectacular finale. Can't change that.

Cleveland: League Park
Also, Bob Zimmer has done great work to preserve Black history -- OUR history, through his Baseball Heritage Museum. He has been tireless and selfless in his good mission. Neither he, nor the community, deserves to have some elected imbecile like TJ Dow standing in the way of positive change. It's downright pathetic.

It does though, when you consider he's just holding out for the proverbial duffel bag full of money.

Lakewood: Development and News
Agree. What's going to be interesting is when the city finally runs out of buildable lots. What's that next era of development going to replace? What will it look like?
