  1. The Shoreway to Boulevard transformation should cover some drastic improvements to E9, right?
  2. I live in Lakewood and respectfully disagree
  3. Omg there’s the largest body of fresh water right there lol. We still cannot keep grass alive? It’s not even summer yet!
  4. All of the "isms" are stupid in a blanket sense. Best to take the virtues from each school of thought and proceed from there.
  5. Agree. Perhaps it would be best if the new org simply just makes it easier for the multitude of existing groups and municipalities to apply for federal dollars. [edit] this is already done at the state level through the not-very-well-publicized ODNR Coastal Management Program: https://ohiodnr.gov/buy-and-apply/apply-for-grants/grants/cmag

Great point. Unfortunately the last rumor I heard was that Garland did not want to stay if the Cavs signed Mitchell. The idea that these two can't play well together pains me and, if that is true, should probably cost Koby Altman his job.

Caller on 92.3 this a.m. had a good point. Before Mitchell got here the offense led by Garland and Rubio looked incredible, at least when the team was healthy. This in addition to an unconventional three bigs lineup and with significant production off the bench, everything clicking. Was that more because of or in spite of JB? Needless to say what I saw of the Cavs offense since the Knicks series last year has been borderline unwatchable, and this is a team with exciting talent! Very clearly the scheme was just was not working out.
  8. ^ Interesting. It may take some real focused coordination to make this org not redundant with all of the other stakeholders out there. The educational and research aspects seem a good sign, but why not invite all of the colleges in the state to participate? The more you think of it the more you realize this is really an enormous task.
  9. Connect is such a key word here. Here's hoping riverfront public access remains 1. a front and center issue and 2. is coherently planned out and coordinated by all stakeholders. I always thought disjointed islands of development was such a big hurdle for the city to overcome. It's hard not to be optimistic when you see how Towpath and Lake Link Trails are helping make such a positive difference.
  10. Just read yesterday that owners of Detroit City FC (USL) bought property in SW Detroit for a brand new 15k seat stadium. Let the race begin :-)
  11. That second pic is creepy as hell 😂
  12. ^ It is really interesting to contemplate a significant return to shipbuilding/repair to Lorain.
  13. Just an FYI but a friend contacted Terrestrial to ask if they were closing. Their response was "No we're open seven days a week so come see us." There was no reference made to the auction of brewing equipment, which last I checked the leading bid was $240.00.
  14. Not too surprising but sad to report that Terrestrial Brewings equipment is listed for auction.
  15. It does seem pretty strange to make market comparisons, as @BoomerangCleRes said each can be vastly different. A SOFI stadium exists in an entirely different economic universe than a stadium in Buffalo, Cleveland or JAX. Even build costs can vary a lot. It's like the only similarity is that nfl football teams play there.
  16. well I thought we were discussing this under the auspices that Great Lakes is moving in part because they didn’t get the lot. If that’s not true I’ll shut up then.
  17. This is all disappointing to me. Speaking on behalf of the Lakefront, compromise seems the best way forward. Does anyone have any faith in that happening? I wish we could just take the architecture and private investment aspects in Haslam’s Lakefront Plan and add the very important natural aspects of the City plan while ensuring public access. That simple agreement to terms would keep the ball rolling and then some. Also I don’t know how Mayor Bibb has somehow missed knowing that people of all walks of life have been visiting our lakefront parks the last 50 years. I honestly don’t know what he’s really angling for.
  18. I think you're overstating how much truck traffic could be added from expansion into that lot. And I mean, since when does the neighborhood with a huge food market suddenly worry about delivery trucks? I also think you're forgetting why Ohio City is in demand. It's because of a heritage of diverse attractions and places of employment like GLBC.

This style of Cavs basketball is almost unwatchable. If they aren't hitting 3's they just have nothing going on. I honestly don't remember seeing an NBA team have virtually no offensive system. I mean, you see that when teams are tanking and don't have a point guard lol. It's like Donovan has horse blinders on. And really who could blame him? He's going 1 vs. 5 and somehow just willing his way to the basket.
  20. This seems really shortsighted on their part.

That was pretty insightful reading his perspective on music production. A real loss for the music scene. Also, Cloud Nothings has somewhat quietly gotten a huge amount of publicity for a Cleveland band. I had no idea they are so closely associated with him.
  22. It absolutely pains me to read that the development of this damn surface lot is a factor for Great Lakes to weigh in leaving the area. Unbelievable.
  23. If you care to show us the painting it's arguably now on-topic :-)
  24. I don’t wanna pile on Great Lakes, because I’ll always love them. But there was a pretty in-depth article on them last year that made it obvious they were somewhat rudderless. They have lost their identity and need to look what other heritage microbreweries have done to stay relevant…rather than struggling to push the low carb kiwi seltzer kinda stuff they’ve delved into.
