  1. Agreed. Need to wrap it up, get the team back to Cleveland and rest up for WS. Is it premature to predict who everyone would rather face from the NLCS? Cubs! It just seems like destiny at this point.
  2. You mean 3 out of 4. Remember the Monsters!!!!
  3. I don't want to go as far to say that tonight is a must-win game. But a Jays win tonight combined with Clevenger possibly starting tomorrow...well, I don't like our chances in any game with Clevenger starting. If we win tonight, it's not as big of a deal either way. If we lose tonight, I'd much rather see Kluber start us off tomorrow.

Funny/sad story. Back in the late 80's our high school had a "trade day," where you could try your hand at doing some blue collar work and maybe go that career route. A flighty girl who looked like Kim Kardashian and always got into trouble (in hindsight she probably had ADD too) became obsessed with the brick laying demo. She wouldn't let anyone else have a turn! I'd never seen her focus her energy on anything other than stretch pants and her hair and makeup...this was NJ after all. The trade guys, amused, let her work diligently for an hour. Then at the end they flat out told her that she couldn't be a bricklayer. I'll never forget how she looked very hurt by this. How did she turn out? Gosh I have no idea. She's not on Facebook or anything. I hope okay.

Seems like a bad investment. I don't see Strickland getting any traction. Also I thought he was a loyal Clinton ally, yet I haven't seen them do anything on his behalf. Like he's diseased.
  7. Is it strange for FC to rely on some other, outside company for their HQ building?
  8. Oooh, sexy downtown Charlotte!!!

I'm finally coming to terms that I had to miss Brian Wilson at the historic Fox Theatre in Detroit last week....this is a period of mourning for me, if you will. The Beach Boys are like a long, twisted, otherworldly novel where the more you put into it, the more you'll get out of it. Some interesting things about this track: -this was Brian's first and most obvious homage to the Beatles, dedicated to John Lennon. -The Beach Boys were competent players, but at this point they were becoming fairly reliant on awesome studio musicians. For this song Brian dragged the band off their tour and back into the studio to record all the instruments on their own...just like the Beatles did. -this is the rare Beach Boys song in that it has no harmony vocals. -the chord changes in this song are phenomenal. Brian had a gift in making complex or unusual arrangements come off to sound easy and natural.
  10. Okay if we're on the "no Tribe news" bandwagon then Jim Rome just mentioned today that there was not one single person who called in today to discuss the Indians. I don't care! None of that matters to me. Go Tribe!!!
  11. That's a constant source of concern! Sincerely, Al Gore p.s. I will happily check discount Drug Mart, I have never been in there actually. Marcs....well I found it really awful. Maybe it deserves a second chance. Thanks for the advice!
  12. Hmm, are those new residents in the Theatre District going to complain about those piercing, bright lights next? :) That's completely different. If you move to the Theatre district you know it's "bright lights" are an attraction unto themselves. Moving into that area and then petitioning to change that feature of the PSH would be asinine! I don't know. People in the Warehouse District know it's full of loud music clubs and that's a constant complaint from residents. Anyway, I'm in support of the street musicians. I believe in noise ordinances for the most part, but limiting the hours for street musicians just seems too overbearing. A lot of them aren't even very loud to begin with. We want a lively, livable city. I think KJP's idea of a bordered area could be a good compromise.
  13. I'm hoping you have those dates reversed. :-(
  14. ^ I suppose the fact that I can't name a single store that's inside Tower City is an indictment on me lol.

  16. A lot of folks in Boston are giving the Tribe the credit they deserve. There's a lot of good, knowledgeable Sox fans in the world. I only wish the major media outlets could be something better than awful. Screw them, and to heck with all-star catcher (and current golfer) Lucroy too. Also, has anyone else realized that this entire reg season espn.com ONLY had the Tribe score on the front page when we played NYY or BOS?
  17. ^ Also, being open til 2:30 am every day sets this place apart. Hoping their kitchen is open as late. Right now there are very few late night options.
  18. Great news, glad to see it's really happening. It's going to be interesting to see what's going to happen with the former Winchester Music Hall/Bevy of Birdtown venue next door.
  19. In the 1980s, either CBS or NBC broadcasted an entire football game without any TV announcers, using just crowd noise and the stadium's announcer. I remember switching channels and accidentally finding this game. I wondered if there was something wrong because I never heard a TV announcer. Only later did I learn that this was intentional. Very cool. If this isn't a viewing option today, well, it really should be. Actually I'm betting one of the several channels airing the Super Bowl had this available. There's just something majestic and historical about baseball. Having two guys forcing conversation over the action can really be a drag. Especially the way voices are perfectly EQ'd in the studio.
  20. $95K is way too much. But $950.00 sounds more like it. http://robgreenfield.tv/theteenygreenyupdate/ http://robgreenfield.tv/theteenygreeny/
  21. I couldn't agree more. They were absolutely awful. That's the other thing that I noticed is they didn't know any of the players. Clvlndr is also spot on with TBS lackluster production of the game. A few years back during the World Series there was half an inning with no announcers, just crowd noise of the stadium. To this day I don't know if it was purposeful or some kind of production glitch. It was glorious.
  22. San Diego neighborhood doesn't want Target Express, gets one anyway! I'd really love to see one open downtown. I'ts a sad fact that neither in Lakewood nor downtown CLE is there place where I can buy a pair of socks.
  23. I wonder if they'll keep doing the small wetlands along the roadside, as seen near Edgewater? Anyhow, at least I 90 is close to full capacity. That should help with some of the traffic. Maybe.
  24. It's interesting the article only mentions center median construction, multi purpose path and landscaping as remaining work. Seems like that shouldn't take very long.

Right! I didn't even have to watch the game yesterday....my neighbor was excitedly descriptively yelling out all the action, and I mean all of it. Including the pitch counts lol. She lives alone.
