Have you been listening to Trump's conspiracy theories again? This candy a$$ liberal has no interest in your photos. I want to see photos! Anyhow my friend spent a day taking pics around town during RNC and sold a bunch to the AP (his former employer). He said that basically anyone can do this, just be prepared to negotiate. There's lots of good photographers on this site, so just FYI.

^ The safest bet in Northeast Ohio is selling something that people eat or drink.
  3. Maybe nobody rides a bike in that neighborhood because they're worried they'll be killed by a certain intoxicated driver?

If we get this bridge back it would be worth it.
  5. ^ Welcome news! That was quite a hassle, costing me around 1.5 hrs a day. Any chance they'll get the nice, tree lined median started this fall?

  7. Loving this. Historical night.... Elias also reports that the Indians are the first team to have a tying home run (this one by Jose Ramirez) and a walk-off inside-the-park run in the same inning. And... The home run increased Naquin's slugging percentage this season to .603. That's third-highest in the majors among players with at least 200 at-bats, trailing only David Ortiz (.628) and Daniel Murphy (.604). Baseball is so unpredictable!!
  8. Yeah, because I was always so original and cutting edge. Freudian slip!!!

This is my experience as well. Mark Zuckerberg IS Facebook. Perhaps he's just getting old, and he's simply not dialed in on what the kids want.
  10. Larry's was great, the site of my first gin and tonic. I believe it set me back 2.00. I'm wondering if these new places will ever attain "authentic" status, as you say. I know it's very hard to prevent this kind of change, it's just too bad the old has to come at the expense of the new. At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if Dube was replaced by a Cheesecake Factory.
  11. Not saying this is the definitive reason, but a lot of people still don't like the Dolans. Perhaps the rift with the fans is still too wide. Larry Dolan said some very idiotic things early on, and he came off like an ivory tower jerk. On the contrary I've heard from several people that he is a good guy. I believe the difference between Dolan, Gilbert and Haslem is that of the three, Dolan seems by far to be the most isolated from the fans. And that's saying a lot since Haslem is basically in hiding. I'd encourage Dolan to avail himself to the fans. Get on the radio, shake hands at the stadium and somehow become more visible and more likable.
  12. I totally forgot this place even existed.
  13. I'm pretty sure that guys m.o. is simply to stir up commentary. He's a paid troll.

    RedHawks!
  15. In other places the boardwalk is exactly what supports and fosters that kind of diversified attraction you're describing. The FEB boardwalk needs to be expanded upon and utilized better; right now it's more or less a deck by the water.
  16. Good point. Both of those should bring in people that won't normally venture down there. The FEB could benefit from some family friendly attractions. Something to help diversify, like the Aquarium on the West Bank. Right now FEB reminds me of an adult Disneyland.
  17. None of these stores would likely even entertain being in the Galleria or The Avenue. That's just not a realistic expectation. It's one thing to say that it should be designed better to fit on the lake front. That's fair. But if you're rejecting this out of hand, you're basically saying you don't want retail and economic activity from this in the city limits. It ain't gonna happen at the Galleria or The Avenue. It's just not. I vote to make it better but I want the economic activity here. I want the taxes here. I want the jobs here. I don't want this going to the suburbs. I am with you in regards to it being located in the city. It seems that someone is going to build an outlet mall somewhere in the Cleveland area so it might as well be in the city preferably downtown. Bring the taxes / jobs / visitors downtown in hope that they will stay and visit other venues in the city. These are preliminary renderings let's see what comes next. Any other development around BKL is probably years away. If they can be smart about it and tie it in to the WFL somehow and create a connection to NCH I think we have to consider it. How would you feel about these outlets on the Public Square Jacobs lot and the adjacent parking lot?
  18. Thank you for clarifying...I was sure you had some depressing, inside info lol.
  19. Yeah, Madison Village was heavily based in alt culture which fell out of style in the late 2000s and the area suffered a lot. From what I've heard, for a while Madison Village was known for being an area getting worse and people tried to disassociate the name. The Lakewood Car Culture show used to be called Madison Village Car Culture or something like that. Definitely a bit of ways to go and we can definitely thank Mahalls for making the area cool again. I think the investment of Woodstock is a sure sign of things to come. I moved to the area in 2004, right when the Madison Village heydey started to wane. It was a very edgy-yet-lively part of town back then, with the awesomely sci-fi Capsule Bar, B-ware video store, record stores, cool little galleries and at least three "adult" fetish stores to keep things extra interesting. All of these places are gone now, or relocated, and it's not quite what it was.....but luckily the indie vibe of the hood remains. I hold out hope that Madison can stay relatively free of the chain places for a long long time.
  20. Maybe Haslam should help fund RTA. Right! He can donate ten dollars and that would easily eclipse what Randy Lerner did for the Lakefront.
  21. He disputes the argument that the Justice Center sits on prime property for development. "(Cleveland) City Hall is prime property too," he said "Do you want to tear that down?" Perplexing comment from Mr. Shakarian. Is there anyone here who feels that the Justice Center is on par architecturally with City Hall? Because that seems to be where he's coming from.
  22. Finally! I'm glad, most notably that Hansa should pump some energy in what is now a pretty dead corner of the Market Square district. Even with all of the new places opening, I still feel like there's a psychological barrier with anything south of Lorain Ave. I'm not sure why that is.

Okay, Ted Cruz is sincerely insane. But since you brought him up specifically (and Hitler indirectly lol!) I'll say that he's disingenuous and a major league panderer as well. For one thing, how can he brand himself "anti-establishment" when his wife is an investment manager for Goldman Sachs? But yes, I absolutely agree with your overall point that sincerity does not equal integrity.
