Always thought that was a fascinating story, the way he just managed to drop out of society. I'm sure the guy has some serious issues.
  2. From what it seems like, they own the whole block. Great! /s Saw some good reviews posted in response to the negative one. But the good reviews are all from people who just registered yesterday, soooo, take that for what it's worth.
  3. ^ Shame they have to tear down what looks like a perfectly good building to do this. That building is nothing special and clearly doesn't meet the needs of the new Community center. I think it's a fair trade. It's built to the street and fits in with its surroundings. It doesn't deserve to be torn down.
  4. ^ Maybe I'm just in a pessimistic mood but this owner also owns Odeon and that bush league music venue across the street.

Pizza Hut's aversion to windows is one of the things that's hurt the franchise imho. Interesting to see other concepts benefit from the anti-sunlight "hut."
  7. In California a private citizen can exercise eminent domain rights as long as the taking is for a public use.
  8. Was Anheuser Busch the traditional opponent to raising the ABV limit?

So true, these sentiments are a welcome change. Last year when I saw people bringing kids, blankets and bottles of wine to the beach I was in utter shock. What a transformation.

There were moments of sheer greatness last night. Loved the effort. Lets see if the team can stay dialed in. Also, did anyone hear Jason Terry's interview on 92.3 yesterday? He had a hilarious story of how he forgot to read the scouting report on the Cavs and so when he got to the game he had absolutely no idea who Sasha Kaun was.

Figured I'd bump this, because it looks like work has quietly started. http://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2015/06/they_have_just_announced_plans_to_construct_a_12000_square_foot_two-story_beach_house_that_will_include_a_fast-casual_eatery_a_sundries_shop_and_significantly_an_elevated_walkway_from_west_76th_street_to_edgewatercleveland_metroparks_to_build.html

As much fun as a Lake Erie Game 7 in Nationwide Arena might have been - (reports were that the lower bowl completely sold out and only upper deck tickets were available - so attendance would have been at minimum 12,000) - I'm happier they won it last night. No need to stress us out! Yeah, real life is stressful enough!
  14. Skilled jobs could be jeopardized, but those careers certainly have more protectionist shielding. But it's not hard to imagine surgery and medical practice will be more automated. And Baker Hostetler law firm just hired an IBM computer which sounds ridiculous, but could open the door for normal people to get excellent legal representation in the future.
  15. Awesome idea!
  16. LOL @ "Hell NO!!!!" lady.

Glad there's no game 7. I'm not sure if the Monsters lose their superpowers having to play so far away from Lake Erie!
  18. ^ There's something eerie about that stupid fenced in area haha. Hoping that seating, human activity and the proposed artwork will somewhat lessen the bluntness of that restaurant back wall.
  19. I was glad to report a street corner florist going in on Superior. Angies Floral Shop. My first thought was wow, what a great location! Second thought was umm, I think this store may be a movie prop.

Glad it's Toronto. For one thing I'm already tired of the LeBron vs Wade storyline. Miami is old news and their fans are weak sauce. Meanwhile the Raptors fans are energized and they bring the added bonus of NOT having Pat "used car salesman" Riley hovering over their games like a greasy vulture. Cavs in five!
  21. FAST 8 (2017), a feature film in the “Fast and the Furious” franchise, will be shooting here in our beloved CLE from May 18 through June 8. From Wikipedia: Vin Diesel hinted at an eighth film on Jimmy Kimmel Live! when he stated that Kurt Russell's character had been introduced in a role that would span multiple films…Chris Morgan will write his sixth script in the franchise, while Neal H. Moritz will return to produce the film. Moritz later stated, "[The story] is going to have to be something enticing for all of us. It has to be as good as or better [than Furious 7]." GOOD AS OR BETTER THAN FURIOUS 7, people. 22. Interesting thing I've noticed is that its taken over a year for the daytime office crowd to start using the grassy sections of Perk Park. I wouldn't be surprised if PS takes some similar amount of getting used to.
  23. Please forgive my pedantry, but memorial statue (fountain). "This Figure expresses the main theme of the Memorial Fountain, namely, the spirit of mankind rising out of the encircling flames of war, pestilence, and the destructive elements of life, reaching and ascending to a new understanding of life. Man rising above death, reaching upward to his God and toward Peace." --- Marshall Fredericks (Designer) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fountain_of_Eternal_Life Are you calling The Plain Dealer a liar?? Shame.
