Coolio gave permission. Then rescinded that permission AFTER Weird Al made "Amish Paradise."

Cleveland: Downtown: Hilton Cleveland
It appears they are going into overdrive getting the north patio completed. It looked like a hopeless pit a little while ago. Great to see it taking shape. Hoping that fencing will be coming down soon!

pfff...I was playing frisbee on the Mall before it was cool. :-) who could forget that famous pic of X down at the mall!

Cleveland: Downtown: Mall Development and News
Not to go too far off track, but I always thought athletic fields (and supportive greenspace) for spots leagues and open ended users would be a great addition to downtown in the College District. I don't think anyone believes the malls are the optimal sports-centric venue. With the right mix of programming and open use the malls would be not unlike the beach; organized concerts one day and unorganized "whatever" the next.

Boomerang friend needs house ASAP
I saw this house over the weekend. I think it's a great deal. http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/12995-Clifton-Blvd-Lakewood-OH-44107/33495342_zpid/

Cleveland: Downtown: Mall Development and News
You have valid a point. But the realization is that 80 percent of downtown just up and dies after 5pm. What stood out to me with these frisbee guys is that there's usually zero activity in that space. Maybe they're starting a trend?

FC Cincinnati Discussion
Seeing the upper tier teams play the lower tier teams is one of the coolest aspects of pro soccer. I love seeing teams like Ft. Lauderdale Strikers, Charleston Battey and the Rochester Rhinos hold their own against MLS in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. http://www.ussoccer.com/stories/2016/02/05/15/43/160205-usoc-2016-competition-format-and-schedule-revealed Also, one interesting aspect of lower division soccer is that the NASL has no salary cap. So there is a chance that a team like the New York Cosmos could theoretically become a ridiculous group of all stars surpassing the MLS teams in talent. Could you imagine if some billionaire owner tried the same thing in pro football or basketball? Very interesting to consider.

Cleveland: Tremont: Development and News
To see that cute storefront space remain empty in such a vibrant neighborhood...I don't know if that speaks more to the owners, or to some larger issue with the neighborhood.

Cleveland: Downtown: Mall Development and News
Just yesterday I saw about 15 people playing ultimate frisbee on Mall B. Just a reminder that there is a value to having a simple grass field in a city. While some of the past (and proposed) art projects have looked nice, to some mall users they are obstacles that cause them to go elsewhere.

Lakewood: Development and News
Classic! Oh, and for anyone who thinks Lakewood wouldn't allow that, they did allow barbed wire fencing along Detroit Ave.

The Storefront Index
Sure if you're ranking cities that has to be a consideration. Looking at a place individually I think it's a nice resource to help figure out where additional retail makes the most sense.

Lakewood: Development and News
I'm not sure how not putting an entrance on Detroit mitigates this. It's the clinic....they're probably looking to put in a moat along Detroit. Or a blank wall. Or shrubbery.

Lakewood: Development and News
Giving CC's past architecture I'm concerned about how this building is going to treat Detroit Ave. This is a bad sign..... Regarding the architectural firm's comment about why they had not designed a Detroit Avenue entrance - "sometimes violence can follow patients into an emergency room" -

True. Cities have so much to gain by aggressively promoting this type of growth.

You mean boilerplate brilliance! Last week, Brecksville City Council awarded Pison a $680,000 grant that would help the company pay for startup and relocation costs, provided that it stays in Brecksville at least 10 years.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Detroit was the best possible team to play in the opening round. They don't give up. It was great seeing the Cavs getting on the same page to earn the W last night. This is just fun. https://streamable.com/oage

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Good news, though I'll undoubtedly be thinking of this the next time I'm swimming: The lingering challenge is the western portion of the site, which includes a long boat slip where dirt laced with an industrial legacy swirls into the Cuyahoga River. Contaminated sediments at the far end of the old channel cause tumors in fish.
