Lakewood: Development and News
This could be a win-win for Lakewood and Cleveland. Hoping that building gets some upgrades. The 1970's were an era where people were unsure about the value of windows.

I have a friend who was a photojournalist. He has lost so many photos because the digital shots he took early on are in a format that is no longer supported. I don't see it happening quite like that again, but all physical media will degrade over time.

Northeast Ohio: Regionalism News & Discussion
Yep. I distinctly remember Akron throwing some money down the toilet for such things.

Sorry wasn't clear. I'm referring to the fans who support keeping the name.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
If Mr. Rodriguez is of Latin American heritage, there's a good chance he's of native American ancestry. I rarely wear the Cheif Wahoo hat anymore as I've come to like the block C. Plus I travel a lot and even if most people are not offended by the logo I still would rather avoid any controversy. Interestingly when I was driving cross country recently I saw an Apache boy sporting the Wahoo hat in Arizona. In hindsight I wished I had talked with him. Im as big of an Indians fan as they come, but ive given up Wahoo. I like block C as well and that's a great branding item. I love the name Indians, hopefully that never changes. AMIRIGHT that the protestors don't mind the name, just the portrayal of the heritage through the cartoon? I too hope they keep the name. Honorable intentions. I'm not sure to what extent people are offended by the Indians moniker, such as the case with Miami University and Washington "Redskins." Of course Eastern Michigan University shed "Hurons" for the awfully generic "Eagles" while Central Michigan (Chippewas) and Florida State (Seminoles) I doubt will ever change.

The green jersey with its retro logo is one of the best ever.

Akron: University of Akron: Development and News
Making beer is science. And an art. The University could offer brewing classes for students and have business, marketing and accounting majors operate the place. Who knows, it might even generate revenues.

Northeast Ohio / Cleveland: General Transit Thread
Agree. Right now a huge percentage of small businesses are reliant on automobile traffic. Like everyone here I want to see the region become less auto-centric, sure, but there's a right way and a wrong way to go about that.

Akron: University of Akron: Development and News
They have to get rid of this guy asap. His arrogance and his bull in a china shop approach has been an utter PR disaster.

Cleveland: Historic Photos
In lots of these pics you just have to marvel at how nice the pavement looked compared to today.

Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
That hot pink color is the worst. Honestly they would look better if vandals spraypainted them.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I was in Lakewood for the first time in awhile Monday night (Holly wanted Angelo's) and had forgotten how many different little places there are there. Few of which are chains. Nearly all of Madison is amazingly chain-free. Take that Detroit Avenue!!!

Agree. Just look at that skyline!

I bet that font is called "huggable" or something cute...maybe "cutesy."

Cleveland: Downtown: Gateway District: Development and News
Interesting note that the bar was reclaimed from the New York Spaghetti House. Strange, I could have sworn the article mentioned "Spaghetti Warehouse."

Cover bands. That's the live music they're adding. And to think when we had Fat Fish Blue Robert Lockwood was playing.

Cleveland: Demolition Watch
^ When the adjacent school was built the theatre could have shared a parking lot. That ball being dropped, along with Hurricane Sandy damaging the roof was the death knell.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Props to this poster for their source as far as the timetable/takeover is concerned. Also, this is a great opportunity for Tower City and it comes at the right time when other things are happening. Below is an image from the mjarboe[/member] article. I wonder when Cleveland Thermal is demolished next year that space will also be in play for Gilbert or someone. Exciting times. Ugh....parking assets. RIP Tower City Ampitheatre Tower City Amphitheater? That's been gone for 5 years I know that, I didn't mean to insinuate it was still there. I miss it. It helped create a lively atmosphere along with the festivals they had down there. Anyhow I believe Gilbert's vision for the Riverfront is simply parking and more parking.

I love seeing vintage pics of Cleveland and Akron with all the commercial signage. I don't see the point in an outright limitation.

Another Dumb-a$$ List / Ranking of Cities
I suppose the skyline values are somewhat variable according to surroundings and vantage point. While I love seeing Cleveland from the lakefront (pic2), I absolutely hate the view from the Flats with the river in the foreground (pic1).
