Undoubtedly, this appointment give Geis a tremendous competitive advantage over other developers. It's very strange.

I had no idea he was still on the air? I know Roda is on some small station.....but the last I saw Drennan was his post Indians tv show. Is that still on?
  3. Kent State will do that to you, depress you. You're JohnSummit not JohnPortage. That building IS that stupid cruise ship that ran aground in Italy. Transfer to Akron!!! GO ZIPS!!!!! :-) Just kidding, I am still hurting for that beat down the Flashes put on Akron last week in hoops
  4. It's possible that the fire at Lolita has affected their schedule.

Watching NBA TV and it's really nice hearing analyst Brendan Haywood sticking up for Delly, called him "the best teammate ever" and "the nicest guy in the world." It's actually hysterical that Matthew Dellavadova has somehow become the leagues new version of Rasheed Wallace. What an enforcer haha.
  6. Nice!! Can you please give this builder a map to Cleveland?
  7. Where were you in the Midtown thread? 327 could have used some backup there lol. Heh. "Midtown" isn't an area I'm familiar with ... and I spend too much time on these boards already. I hear that! Midtown discussion is essentially a microcosm of this issue. It could be a textbook, "Competing Philosophies of Zoning, City Planning and Thread Locking."

  9. Completely and utterly amazing. This is one of those magic articles that conjures up every human emotion imaginable for the reader....it's funny, it's terrifying but it's mostly sad. This sentence is my favorite: In a blistering dissent, Judge Timothy McCormack blasted the arbitrator's decision as "a stagnant pool of rancid, stenchful waste."
  10. I don't know...I'm no expert but think these buildings have something to work with. Anyhow this city has enough dead zones.
  11. That's too bad I always thought that was a no brainer residential conversion. Hopefully whatever replaces it will utilize the grounds more efficiently...for now that parking lot seems like a huge waste of space.
  12. He's obviously bothering that woman.
  13. What are the chances of this new building having any meaningful street interaction with Washington Ave?
  14. This is relevant. http://deadspin.com/176349/the-most-brilliant-thing-youll-see-all-day
  15. I disagree. If that were the case I'd never take the Red Line Downtown from Lakewood. I'd drive.
  16. Uh, yes it was. It's why Terminal Tower was built where it was built -- on Public Square, the hub of the city's streetcar system. Now the hub of the local bus system. So how is the rail hub not designed to interface with the local transit system? If Tower City is so great, why are you an advocate for creating a transit hub on the lakefront? Hardly a rail hub area, especially since the Red Line will not be a part of it. 1. The Waterfront line is right there 2. Amtrak trains can no longer access TC
  17. Uh, yes it was. It's why Terminal Tower was built where it was built -- on Public Square, the hub of the city's streetcar system. Now the hub of the local bus system. So how is the rail hub not designed to interface with the local transit system? It was originally planned for the lakefront, the site of the isolated Amtrak station near the area you think a new transit hub should go now. The rail hub was moved to the Van Sweringens' Terminal Tower project on PS. Money and politics controlled that decision and it wasn't because of the streetcar system. Same old Cleveland story I know, especially when it comes to transit. How does the rail hub buried under TC interface exactly? You think that's good interfacing? You must not travel much to other cities. I actually enjoy the walk through TC to RTA. To me it's reminiscent of NYC Port Authority or LA Union Station.
  18. I think he's commenting on the gritty "seventies-ness" of the original pic.
  19. You are not kidding. The video, it's so bad it makes me never want to go there again. How is that even possible? Seriously. I kept expecting the topic shifting to either erectile dysfunction or hair club.
  20. No need for a focus group when there's already an amazing song! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBUxUa0TrsY&list=PLnkpgoSuY0xsNAxyljcK4d_p818awgYi_
  21. Agree on the materials. So glad they didn't skimp on the pavers. I do wish that all of Superior within the square got the pavers, but whatever. And yet another .com comment section turns into an indictment of Cleveland Hopkins....very interesting.
  22. Did AC/DC buy the naming rights? Haha. "Jack" already means so many different things. Most have a very negative connotation.
  23. Wow. I thought "Horseshoe" was bad.

I'm not a country music fan generally. But you've got to love the story of Dwight Yoakam. Raised in Cbus, he was essentially seen as unmarketable by the country music industry in Nashville. So he moved to L.A. and cut his teeth playing with anyone who would share a bill including punk bands. Guys gone on to sell 25 million records. So much for not being marketable!
