Cleveland / Lakewood: The Edge Developments
It was always a shame to see this building sitting unused, hopefully the they renovate it sooner rather than later! Good news!

Student housing in downtown Akron as well. It really stands out.

New York City: Developments and News
Interesting. The article makes no mention of the larger capacity for streetcars over buses, an obvious advantage. Also New Yorkers don't seem to be averse to using buses, particularly the public housing residents mentioned, so I wonder how people will perceive the need for the streetcar line. Anyhow I'm glad to see more streetcar momentum.

Sorry to hear that. Thank you for saving me the time of trying to engage you in an actual adult discussion.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I'm not sure I understand the importance of who initiated things. The article states that Haslam is supportive of using tax money for this. The Columbus Partnership, which includes leaders of about 50 of that city's largest corporations, is the lead proponent of using state tax proceeds to move the Browns. But the funds are being sought with Browns owner Jimmy Haslam's knowledge and approval.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
According to Larkin: Haslam has been negotiating to move the team's training camp to Columbus since nearly 50,000 fans attended an intrasquad scrimmage at Ohio Stadium last summer.

Haslam's out of his mind.

These are going to be marketed to students.

Cleveland: University Circle: Centric Development (formerly Intesa)
Right. I've got no crystal ball and wrong all the time, but I'm predicting this style of architecture (which I now refer to as "Campus Gateway-ish" because of UO) will come to represent an era of cheapness or blandness in the future.

I don't say this word a lot, but that is very douchey.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Looking good. My only concern, well two concerns actually are the black bit of wall space on the south side and I want to see more evidence that this new building will provide more pedestrian-level cohesion to the Harbor.

It's been said this could be the most valuable piece of real estate in the city. Does anyone here think that this new project reflects that idea in any way?

Northeast Ohio: Regionalism News & Discussion
No, but that their workload is significantly lower. But the comment wasn't really about the officers themselves, whom I do actually respect greatly. It was more about the likely misallocation of officers in this county to areas that could stand to see a reduced presence while sending more officers to areas that actually need them. Cleveland residents often deal with long response times to 911 calls while officers just a few miles away in wealthier suburbs sit idle because they're in a different jurisdiction. It's a question of efficiency and safety. I'm also talking about efficiency and safety. It's the reason I bought a small house in Lakewood instead of a much larger one in Cleveland.

Akron: Random Development and News
This is the most schizophrenic article I've read in a long time. Interesting to hear the elfin lackey deputy mayor David Lieberth even softly criticizing mayor Don "Melodrama" Plusqualic for dropping the ball on downtown residential. Great job gentleman /s. Reading about the 42 year old guy who never left Akron city limits is just absolutely depressing. If you're going to make a life in that city, and be all optimistic about the future then by all means good luck to you.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Great game, no doubt. Even without Duncan the Spurs are a quality opponent. I'm still concerned about Mozgov (no longer deserving of all caps). He seems a mess out there, blowing layups left and right. And I'm not sure why Andy is getting zero playing time. Maybe that will change with Lue coaching, but who knows. It's obvious that if this team wants to win this year, that they need every single player to play at their best, and maybe even beyond that.

Northeast Ohio: Regionalism News & Discussion
This is true. For instance, for residents of leechburbs like Beachwood, Independence, and Westlake with well-funded public safety departments, they might seen a significant increase in the time it takes for officers to leave the local donut shop to respond to cats in trees. Are you suggesting that the police in those suburbs are less qualified than in Cleveland?
