Lakewood: Development and News
There is in fact a Dominos Pizza logo on the sign rendering. Unless it's the largets Dominos ever, there looks like there's a lot of room for another few storefronts as well.

For the life of me.....I read "Detroit Shoreway" and couldn't shake W.58 and DETROIT. Confused myself pretty good. I like this, this is the little building that could :-) Also, the Dellavadova collaboration idea was pretty ingenious.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Correct. See above re: Anaheim. Anaheim and San Diego are so very different I don't even know where to start. Anyhow nobody here in SD wants the Chargers to leave. It is traumatic for fans here, believe me. But it does seem very different from when the Browns left Cleveland. Charger fans are not calling sports radio 24/7 or hanging the owner in effigy or calling NFL headquarters en masse like Browns fans did. Instead, the fans feel totally powerless over how this entire situation; many have already moved on, figuring out other things to do on Sundays. My brother has been a season ticket holder for 30 years. All he's known is tailgating all day during every Sunday home game. Well, I've asked him and he's just going to get to spend more Sundays with his grandkids at their own youth sporting events. He's sad, certainly. But he's not devastated. I hate the NFL for what it has allowed happen to the good fans of Cleveland and San Diego. I really do. The New Browns have been a bizarre, relentless and traumatic joke perpetrated by the League. I can't even watch the Browns without getting sick. And the LA Chargers? Dead to me. I think my Sundays are going to be better spent elsewhere.

Columbus, OH - A Fashion Capital?
^ Just my opinion, that street cred is sort of buried because there's no visible fashion (apparel!) district downtown. There really should be.

Favorite Music At The Moment?
Once at Columbus City Center Mall in 2004 I thought I was walking next to Vince Neal's fat, out of work stunt double. Nope I was wrong. It was actually him.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
I remember eavesdropping on a loud phone conversation on the Red Line which ended with the guy threatening to come over and "beat the ass" of the person on the other end of the convo. Only problem was after he hung. It was then he realized he didn't remember where the intended victim lived, so he had to call him back to ask for the correct address lol.

Cleveland: Retail News
The worst Walmart in America? Yeah, you are hoping for that Target. Ironically, Tower City used to be where I did my clothes shopping, Structure, Warner Brothers, Browns store, etc... Erocc I can't help but picture you in a Taz shirt, under a nice cardigan sweater and rocking some of those Browns zany orange and white zebra stripe pants.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
Zoning really shouldn't allow anything but this approach. And any move to retroactively add retail to existing garages should be incentivized. Anyhow, I'm okay with the aesthetic of the base as-is. Yes it reminds me of the 80's just a little, but not a deal breaker.

Very refreshing to hear about local government streamlining to support small businesses. Why and How Lakewood Is Becoming a Dining Destination Lakewood rising By Annie Zaleski Deagan's Kitchen & Bar opened in downtown Lakewood in 2010 in a space occupied by a string of prior businesses that never really lasted. From the start, the gastropub distinguished itself from other eateries in town by offering an ever-evolving, carefully curated beer and cocktail list, a thoughtful menu featuring upscale bar food, and weekly specials such as Taco Tuesdays and Vegan/Vegetarian night. In hindsight, it's clear that the arrival of Deagan's lit the fuse on a Lakewood dining explosion. During the last five or so years, nearly 40 new restaurants or food-first establishments have opened in the city. Gone are the days when Lakewood was considered a dive bar mecca. Today, "it's become an area where great chefs want to be," says Deagan's owner Dan Deagan. http://www.clevescene.com/cleveland/how-and-why-clevelands-western-neighbor-is-becoming-a-dining-destination-like-no-other/Content?oid=4680391

I would argue to make street parking free, but with time constraints. Anything to devalue the large surface lots.

NFL: General News & Discussion
Well the economics for stadium investment are out and they're not flattering. Wouldn't it be a real kick to have three poorly run NFL teams in L.A. (Los Apathy)?

NFL: General News & Discussion
The drama continues, as it's sounding like Rams owner is going to build his stadium in L.A. no matter what. Kroenke blasts St. Louis in NFL relocation proposal By David Hunn ST. LOUIS • The St. Louis region is losing population and lags in economic drivers to such a degree that it cannot support three professional sports teams, St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke told the National Football League in his proposal to move to Los Angeles. ......... But perhaps the most scathing section of the application comes at the end, when it attacks St. Louis. It calls San Diego and Oakland “significantly more attractive markets than St. Louis.” San Diego is the 12th most attractive metropolitan area in the country, it says, and Oakland’s gross domestic product is expected to rise above San Francisco’s in 10 to 15 years. http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/govt-and-politics/kroenke-blasts-st-louis-in-nfl-relocation-proposal/article_cc72f61a-0c35-53bd-8890-0efde6402509.html

IKEA - Cleveland
Nah. It's "Toms River: A Story of Science and Salvation" http://www.amazon.com/Toms-River-Story-Science-Salvation/dp/055380653X To keep this on topic, there are several "hills" in the vicinity of the IKEA site that are obviously man made. Red flag. Back in the day these areas just outside city limits were prime dumping grounds for God knows what. Unfortunately there was a real lack of knowledge and foresight; it just made sense at the time.
