I get that, but this other location is not City View and was never a landfill. It is about a mile from the I-77/I-480 interchange and has great visibility. Wait a second...is it downhill from the Cityview/landfill? Lol, I'm reading a Pulitzer winning book about how my home town on the Jersey Shore was a secret toxic waste dump. Hello cancer cluster!
  2. I sold beer for a couple years including the "Red Right 88" game. I recall some scoreboard glitches but never the actual power. I liked the Bills stadium. I actually had my old style digital camera, with AA batteries, and was sitting low in the end zone with the Broncos huddling not far away. I was good....... >:) It helped that the Bills fans were 100% aware the Indians were playing the Miami baseball team that night. Too bad Jose Mesa wasn't. Buffalo was the Tribes AAA affiliate for many years. You probably know this, just a general fyi.

This drum sound....it just makes me depressed

Okay, I find it odd that two bands on this cited "Offspring and Bad Religion" as influences. But the glaring sin was the inclusion of a COVER ACT on this list. Therefore, it cannot possibly be taken seriously. Though I'll say that Cities and Coasts and Archie and the Bunkers have been great to work with. And the chicks from Village Bicycle are super cool.

I'm in Cleveland currently, visiting for a week. After four days of near complete dreariness the sun came out yesterday around 3:30 pm, so I walked across the street into the park just to have ten minutes of sun on my face. Totally worth it. Now today is really sunny, and it seems like it's positively affected everyone's mood a great deal. I personally feel so much more awake and energetic. I have lived in Akron, Cleveland and Columbus before moving and I'd rank their "dreariness index" in that order, with Columbus being the least dreary. I've put my time in in Ohio, and now I gotta say it's very rough for me coming back here. I"m just so used to the sunny weather that I'm positive that it would negatively affect my health to move back. My friend from Florida is ready to leave Cleveland asap because of that very reason. While friends who grew up here don't seem to be anywhere near as bothered. Anybody here ever suffer from S.A.D.? If yes/no, are you originally from Ohio or did you grow up elsewhere?

Caught these guys live last year. Saintseneca from good old Columbus OH-IO.
  7. I've been to many NFL stadiums. Heck, I WORKED in decrepit Browns Stadium selling beer from 1990-95. I have never seen the electricity and play clock go out like that. Though I suppose it "could" happen. Anyhow, I'm sure more people have had better experiences but I have no reason to go back to Buffalo. Ever. One and done!
  8. I remember parking there back then, and wondering if my 84 Chevy Cavalier would still be there come 1am. It was almost like the world dropped off just a block north.
  9. It seems to me nearly all NFL teams have fans like this. Even Bengals games have a few of these folks. It's especially bad when Pittsburgh is in town - there must be a lot of empty mountains in Appalachia when the Steelers play, because I don't have any idea where these people come from. I can't imagine what the crowd in Pittsburgh must be like if the sampling that makes the trip to Cincinnati is any indication of the average fan. Ha, you're probably right. NFL breeds this kind of thing. Come to think of it, I've had people in Cleveland's Warehouse District pick fights with me for my Bolts jersey on days when the Browns weren't even playing the Chargers. No worries though. Since the Chargers have officially filed for relocation I'm not going to have that problem anymore.

Jackson is the prototype "low energy candidate" haha. He's done okay, I like Jackson. I really like Chris Ronayne a lot but he was born with a pigmental disadvantage that unfortunately makes a successful run pretty unlikely.
  11. ^ You really can't gauge it though until you visit wearing that other teams jersey. Browns fans were invited guests, which I always thought was a cool gesture....though it was obviously a business decision for Buffalo.
  12. This is my problem. It doesn't seem like a sound policy to me. It's a recipe for less accountability and more friction.
  13. Went there to watch my Chargers lose in person a few years back. Some fans were cool to me, while others were clearly inbred maniacs shouting jibberish. Do you know how difficult it is to talk trash with people who can't even speak English? Or make sense? Anyhow, they: -prominently featured the retired number of murdering psychopath O.J. Simpson throughout their awful stadium -have no parking lot, so locals gouge you for the privilege in parking at their houses on mucky grass -play third rate ads for auto dealerships on their scoreboard -had their game clock malfunction so none of the players or coaches or referees knew what was going on -lost electricity throughout the stadium in the second quarter and couldn't sell any beer or soda for the rest of the game Not an overall fun experience.
  14. Haslem was quick to point out that Sashi Brown had "no ego." On the one hand, that's an attribute. But there's also the possibility this guy is merely a yes man for Haslem. Anyhow, anybody who sticks with this team through all of this is clearly suffering from battered wife/husband syndrome.

Bridge lighting is looking spiffy. Say does anyone know if the completion date is still OCT 2016? I thought I heard it could be fast tracked to be done prior to the Repub Convention.

Or how about the City View Center in Garfield Heights? There, problem solved. Plenty of room there. Yes... Put it there! Things will just sliiiiide into place. City View, no, but the land just across the freeway in Garfield Heights would seem to make sense. Not sure if there is enough land available there, but the location is great. There has been talk of an outlet mall going in there, but I'm not sure if that's ever going to become a reality. Here's how it is marketed (all of the things that would make this a great place for an outlet mall seems to apply to a potential IKEA): http://www.craigrealtygroup.com/App_Assets/CMSDocs/LeasingBrochures/LeasingBrochure-cleveland.pdf For the record I was totally joking about City View. Seagulls don't even want to go there.

It's sort of hard to believe that with all the wetlands we've already lost in Northeast Ohio, that they can't (or won't) find a non-wetland property to acquire for this project.
  18. Skaters are drooling over this plan.

What is the Short North UDF looking like these days? Have they spiffed it up at all? 7-8 years ago it was an impressively derelict operation in the middle of that area's nascent yuppie commerce. It was always so dimly lit at night...like you definitely shouldn't be in there.
  23. Yep!! And I'm pretty sure you have to be a certain age to get the reference.
