Everyone remember that 12 men on the field penalty? Yeah....total team loss summed up perfectly right there.

\ Local law. For instance, Great Lakes has a satellite bar location at CLE. I'm assuming this law also prevents "tasting rooms" that are popping up all over San Diego. The breweries are usually off in the hills, so they open these bars in the trendy areas to help introduce their product to new customers. It capitalizes upon and further enhances these foodie districts.

I suppose the economy is so bustling that we can have these archaic regs that do nothing but hurt small business.

Talk of zoning, density, choice of building materials, rental vs. ownership, securing financing.....This could be the most insightful comment section ever. http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2015/10/rental_townhouses_planned_for.html#incart_river_home

Well at least BW-3 BW-2 should provide some stability to that cursed space. Took my dad to the San Diego location this year and noticed their food quality was much upgraded from prior years.

MLB: General News & Discussion
Dean Chance, Cy Young Award Winner and Yankees Nemesis, Dies at 74 Dean Chance, a right-hander for five major league teams whose Cy Young Award-winning year, 1964, ranks among the great season-long performances in the history of the game, died on Sunday at his home in New Pittsburg, Ohio. He was 74. The cause was a heart attack, his son, Brett, said. A loose-limbed — and occasionally loose-lipped — farm boy with a variety of pitches and an unusual delivery that involved turning his back on the hitter until shortly before he released the ball, Chance pitched 11 seasons in the big leagues, twice winning 20 games and enjoying special success against the Yankees, a team he beat 18 times. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/13/sports/baseball/dean-chance-cy-young-award-winner-and-yankees-nemesis-dies-at-74.html?_r=0

November 2015: Ohio Issues 2 and 3 (Monopolies/Marijuana)
This is an issue where the legislature should have been proactive in the first place, but as we've seen on several issues they are too weak kneed. I predict both 2 and 3 will pass. And I predict years of confusion.

^^ Re: Delahunty building I found out yesterday it was being renovated by a some guys who were turning it into a very cool loungy hangout with video games, a bike shop and a stage for live music. Too bad, I bet it would have been a nice addition to the hood.

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
Despite all the positive things happening in town, Cleveland is increasingly growing an image of being out of control crime-wise and this sh*t has got to stop... Zack Reed wants more cop boots on the ground in neighborhoods like Mt. Pleasant and has proposed Council increase police overtime to facilitate it. While Zach's not the most popular kid on the block, he's right about this one imho. But as we've seen in recent weeks -- this OC armed robbery plus the bike-mounted robbers in Tremont, murder at E. 4th, windows shot out at the Langston @ CSU, etc., etc -- this craziness is spilling over into Cleveland's jewel areas... not good. I have always wondered if Cleveland was unique in that it seems every "good" neighborhood borders a "bad" one. Anyhow, yesterday I realized the 101st murder victim was an eccentric, funny old guy that I used to talk to at the Root Cafe in Lakewood.

Cleveland: Downtown: Justice Center Complex Replacement
The area of 18th and Superior is also a growing residential area. Lots of artists live in the Superior Avenue Loft district. Plus as someone noted Zaremba's Avenue District planned townhomes (I think I saw on this forum the designs just went to planning commission) are here as well. True. No need to put this thing in Siberia just because it's a hideous, street killer in its current incarnation. The facility generates a lot of traffic; lots of people who would be supporting surrounding businesses.

Cleveland: Hotels, Conventions, and Tourism News & Info
^ Well said. And perhaps just as irritating are the headlines that make it sound as if it was the evil Republican Party that made the decision to oust the concert. This AP show exists solely because it's convenient for the bands who are already in town. In other words, the continued existence of the concert is beyond the control of the city and AP anyhow.

Cleveland: North Coast Transportation Center
Designers of the span said it is possible to provide a future link from the pedestrian span to an intermodal hub by inserting a vertical connection, presumably stairs and an elevator, in the large, central V-shaped tower designed to support the bridge. Does an elevator seem like enough volume? I just can't picture a single elevator as a solution for people heading en-masse to events on the lake.

- Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Can anything besides a bar or restaurant be built in this town? It's getting old. You mean besides the hundreds of new residences under construction or about to be, the 1200+ new hotels rooms set to open by this time next summer, a massive public square makeover, a half a billion dollars in new bridges, new convention ctr, improvements along the river-boardwalk/rowing center/water taxi/canal pathway, further improvement to Edgewater park/beach house/ shore way conversion, downtown grocery store, Giegers Sports... What would you suggest? Since this is the FEB thread I'd specifically like to see a boardwalk plan that helps generate some arcades and general retail. If the boardwalk taps into the towpath routes I could picture bike shops, skate rentals and the like. We need more family oriented business downtown. - Cleveland: Flats East Bank
