Don't know. I would think the United Bank building at W25 and Lorain. But the tweet came from @SOLODistrictOC so it could be anywhere along and south of Lorain. It looks like they are either sharing or taking over the JC Beertech spot. Related to the Hingetown moniker discussion, Platform/Beertech/Brew Shop are the only people who call it the SOLO District. They should stop trying to make SOLO District happen. There's nothing preachier than someone trying to make a new neighborhood or region nickname stick. Especially when one already exists. Who's preaching now? I happen to like the SOLO District. I do too. Is there a pre-existing name that's a better description? Steves Lunch Heights? Now "Eco Village" on the other hand....

I was riding my bike around Ohio City last night after dusk and it was the first time that I actually felt a bit unsafe while riding my bike. There were a lot of sketchy characters out walking around the neighborhood. It's quite unfortunate Were you around 25th? My friends are street musicians and we stayed out until 2am by ABC Tavern and it felt really safe. Lots of people around and not just bar scene crowd; talked to lots of families too.

FYI I took some out of towners to the West Side Market on Saturday. Walking back to the car parked on Jay St. I saw four broken drivers side windows, but my window wasn't broken. I felt lucky. But when I got into my car and lowered the power window, it broke. My mechanic friend said it was likely that someone hit the window and knocked it off track. Come on Ohio City!! I can't afford to buy a house there but I still want to visit you. I suppose I'll use RTA next time.

Ugh. This is a national problem, really. I'd bet that a significant number of "indecent exposure" tickets are the result of desperate people merely trying to relieve themselves.

Honest question: you're from out of town and you're driving your family for a day at the beach. Right on the doorstep to Edgewater Park is the word SEWER prominently displayed. Tell me, how do you feel about going into the water? How is this any different than marketing the Sewer District on bottled drinking water? It would be stupid. This reflects negatively on Cleveland. The NEORSD is a public entity IN CLEVELAND. This strategic advertising absolutely hurts the process of selling the city as a beach and water sports destination. I honestly don't know how anyone could possibly think it's a good idea to "market" the Sewer District in that way. And for that matter, most jurisdictions use benign terms like "Wastewater" in their name, not "Sewer" and it is precisely because of the negative connotation. Cleveland has a honest to God legacy of horrid polluted water. It's in the city's best interest to distance itself from the connection of Lake Erie and the "Sewer." I didn't realize that that graphic was displayed at Edgewater. I thought you just pulled a random graphic from the sewer district's website and were upset that it said 'sewer,' haha. Sorry I wasn't clearer. Yeah my whole thing is the proximity. It is a sad fact that our only swimming beach is so close to the Sewage treatment facility. In my home town in NJ the sewage facility was also close to the beach, but it was set back in the marsh/woods and very well hidden. Tourists were none the wiser. Sensitive issue because like CLE, NJ has it's own bad history of water pollution that they've been working very hard to distance themselves from.

Whether or not they understand it, they sure seem to hate it. Just east of Playhouse Square we have an institution determined to make a big chunk of downtown as look suburban as possible. Did they have to run this past anyone first, what appears to be a large-scale redevelopment plan? Do they feel this is what everyone wants? Do they care? It's almost as if the powers that be drove up and down the deadest of the dead streets (Walnut, St. Clair, etc.) and said "Yes...this is exactly what we're going for!!!"

Because they can and it keeps people working on things which can't be objectively measured. Speaking of measured, the sewage content in the water has made the idea of swimming just a bit unpalatable. "YOUR SEWER......DISTRICT" p.s. for the record, I have good friends in NEORSD and realize they do some good stuff :-)

That's your right. But virtually every other beach community has changed or backed away from the term because of negative association. Miami Beach: Public Works Miami Beach Outer Banks: Southern Outer Banks Water System San Diego: SD Wastewater/Public Utilities Atlantic City: Atlantic City Municipal Utilities Authority Malibu: Civic Center Wastewater I've traveled almost every inch of coastline in the U.S. I've just never seen this type of marketing any place else. Though if Myrtle Beach uses this ad on a billboard anytime soon I'd be very surprised lol.

Yep. That's me too. Though I can not resist the gelato at the Sweet Spot in Lakewood. All of it's locally sourced or organic and they do use Great Lakes beer too.... Beeramisu. Damn the consequences!

I haven't had ice cream in years, so I can't comment. But I've found Business Insider has gone pretty far downhill as a reliable source.

I like Forest City too. And if we ever get a pro soccer team, I definitely like the ring of "Forest City S.C."

I've come to realize that when a university specializes in a certain program, urban planning in CSU's case they don't seem to show it when one looks at their university. Take Kent State for example, it has an AMAZING architecture program, one of the top in the country. The problem is though they have some of the WORST architecture I've ever seen. Besides front campus (Franklin Hall, Merrill etc.) the rest of campus contains bland box buildings that lack character inside and out. So I can't say I'm surprised that Cleveland State has come up with a building with a layout such as this. The irony. Kent State looked like twenty junior high schools, clustered together. I remember for years the Akron College of Engineering building was crumbling; literally falling apart. You could walk past and grab pieces of the building off with your bare hands.

Good point. Just look at the body language....the Golden State Warriors look absolutely miserable having to play these games.
