  1. I'm still waiting on Mike Holmgren to elaborate on all the exciting changes that are taking place! Just kidding. It is frustrating to have so much talk over the years go absolutely nowhere.
  2. It's exceedingly dumb. Anyhow if you look at KJP's rendering it appears the CC can still have natural light and some good views if the sides of the extended mall have windows.
  3. Mike Adams posted recently on FB that he's closing Rockefellers. Sorry that I never did get a chance to make it over there.
  4. ^ Where is the paragraph about integrating the bridge with the Transit Center?

The originally were the San Francisco Warriors and played in San Francisco, in the Cow Palace (actually in Daly City). I guess they changed the name after they started playing in different venues in the area. One idea during the Golden State rename was they would split "home" games between Oakland and San Diego.

Do you mean Republican voters or Republican politicians? Or both? I'm pretty dissatisfied with both parties on the transit front. However, I think once the streetcar shows itself to be successful in the Republican bastion that is Cincy, you're going to hopefully see more public support for similar investment in the other C's.
  7. This is a valid point. But I was thinking, while Cleveland doesn't not have that insane high cost of living, it does have a great deal of divergence in livability throughout. I'd much rather live in a small house or micro apartment in a vibrant neighborhood vs. a cheaper, larger, nicer house in a struggling area. [man my spelling and sentence structure has just gone straight stupid lately]
  8. The trailer component, while providing portability, is more or less a trick to avoid zoning regs which disallow small houses. I'm willing to bet the vast majority of those dwellers would gladly trade in their tires for a permanent foundation.

One note from last nights Golden State-Houston game, the Q is way more photogenic than Oracle Arena. I believe they're using fluorescent lights they found in a dumpster.
  10. "Conservatives don't want big government. Until they do." -Rand Paul talking to Jon Stewart last nite on The Daily Show

With Dwight Howard of yesteryear, I'd say yes they could come back. Otherwise Golden State seems to be peaking at just the right time.
  12. ^ E for effort!! Though saying you would simply "destroy the sign" would've been acceptable. Seriously, are they building that granite thing new, or just hauling a pre-existing one out of the ground and relocating it to Cleveland? That kind of thing belongs along a freeway access road, not in a downtown.
  13. I can only guess that the "D" in DERU Landscape Architecture stands for "Discount."
  14. The monument grave/sign is so horrid, it's making me not hate the turnpike rest stop canopy as much.
  15. In the last two decades municipalities have been buckling to demands of their pro sport franchises to build new stadiums. Atlanta is building a new domed football stadium and baseball stadium while the old ones are only around 20 years old. Its pretty ridiculous. As Jacobs field and The Q turned 20 last year I began to wonder when we'd start to hear talk about new stadiums. I guess here we are. I think if they do get the money for the renovations, massive exterior renovations such as giving the concrete structure a glass exterior, mechanical fixes, and essentially making the building larger (increasing the footprint) for $140 million isn't (that) terrible. The new Orlando magic arena, which is 18,000 seats costs $330 million. I know I'm comparing apples to oranges essentially, but what I'm saying is if they do go through with this I'd rather only have a $70 million dollar tab (50-50 split) than that huge $330-$400 million dollar tab. I will say though even though I still like the Q a lot, I do wish the Q had more glass and was more transparent there is too much concrete for my taste. The entire Gateway complex was too insular in design.

Okay, so I'm checking out some national opinion on the whole "Delly is Satan" controversy. My unofficial result: majority of commentators thinks Horford indeed pulled him down by the arm (to me this is obvious from the front view, but not from the view tnt kept replaying) and that Reggie Miller is an imbecile. Even Bulls fans are sticking up for him, if that's any indication. Favorite comment from a Bulls fan.....HORFORD IS JUSTIFIED IN RETAIATING. WHAT NOBODY REALIZES IS THAT DELLY MURDERED KORVER'S FAMILY WITH A BOOMERANG.
  18. Agree. This neighborhood has the makings of a really tremendous neighborhood. Needs more landscaping effort, infrastructure repair and overall sprucing up. But yes, it's a really unique asset.

I've basically given up hope in seeing Mozgov come up really big offensively in these playoffs. But just having him out there is a big deal. His defensive presence is really something. I never bought into the whole "we need a rim protector" argument, but seeing his effect out there, I'll gladly stand corrected. So MOZ, if you're reading this forum, just score around 10 pts, keep up the intensity and please stay out of foul trouble.

Actually there was a general named Wooster for whom the town is named. That's why the high school nickname is the "Generals." Then again, maybe his ancestors were "Worcester." edit - found this cool article http://web.cortland.edu/woosterk/locher.html
