Can you watch it on the net? I loved the character in Breaking Bad.

The other broadcaster is from Toronto. That's gotta be Schulman, right?
  3. I'm not well-versed in this, but can you explain how this is any different than funding the Downtown Cleveland Alliance employees?

Watching the Cavs/Heat. And man, I'm getting pretty sick of Hubie Brown and Dan Shulman openly rooting for the Heat. I miss Joe Tait.
  5. Was there really any vocal opposition to this? I mean, aside from Zack "Better call Uber" Reed?
  6. ^ Nice. THe outdoor seating along Euclid should be a major improvement.
  7. Akron Children's Hospital is a fun place! Isn't it important to make hospital environs as pleasant as possible?
  8. ^ Very insightful. I think there's a plausible argument to be made for opening up access to the waterfront fringe areas of Burke for development. There could be a market for higher end residential out there. It's waterfront. It's secluded, and yet so very close to all of the amenities of downtown.
  9. But this transit study shouldn't be about bus fares; that's not only narrow, it's unnecessarily conclusive. The study should be about who is causing gridlock on W 25th, and what alternatives exist to facilitate better movement through the corridor. But you may be right, in that the entire "single car-less mom with a child" scenario they love mentioning could very well be the short sighted, incomplete approach to transit that they are pursuing.
  10. http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2015/02/lite_bus-rapid_transit_tailore.html#incart_river The article, maybe even the entire study, seems to weigh heavily on existing and potential population density. It's really not indicated how much of a role tourism and potential tourism was considered inn the equation. If we're looking forward to a further, more completely revitalized corridor, then shouldn't the increase in potential number of visitors be worthy of discussion? It's easy to envision pushing parking garages more on the perimeter of the Market District, further encouraging people to leave their cars for the day for the Zoo, Brooklyn, Porco's Tiki Bar :-) etc. etc.
  11. Strap, you've already given this much more thought than the perpetrator.
  12. I love this. People will love this. Cleveland still hasn't scratched the surface in playing up its iconic history. But this is a leap forward.

The funny driving posts reminded me of a recent study that's come to light. If there's still any question as to which is worse for society, marijuana or alcohol, these findings should weigh heavy on the discussion. Marijuana Doesn’t Make You More Likely To Crash Your Car BY CARIMAH TOWNES POSTED ON FEBRUARY 7, 2015 A study from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration concludes that driving after smoking marijuana does not make you more likely to get into a car crash — especially when compared to driving after alcohol consumption. Researchers studied 9,000 drivers over the past year to examine marijuana’s impact on driving. Although 25 percent of marijuana users were more likely to be involved in a car crash than people who did not use the drug, gender, age, and race/ethnicity of marijuana users were considered, demographic differences actually contributed substantially to crash risk. Younger drivers had a higher crash rate than older ones, and men crashed more than women. On the other hand, drivers who consumed alcohol were significantly more likely to crash. Those with a 0.08 percent breath alcohol level crashed four times more than sober drivers, and people with a 0.15 percent level were 12 times more likely to crash. http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2015/02/07/3620555/marijuana-use-in-car-crashes/
  14. Hmmm, limit your customer base to residents only. That's an interesting strategy from a financial standpoint.

Agree, I can't picture him as an NFL hurler. I'd be more excited if the Browns were looking to get Colt McCoy back.
  16. Nicely done!! Man I sure had some fun times with the lady friends at Litchfield Towers.
  17. I'd just assume that the majority of college students have cars.
  18. Hmm not one mention of RTA in the entire survey.
  19. You're right -- my mistake! The Odeon was the factory-like building next door. Nope, never went into the Odeon, before or after its conversion! Aw that's too bad. It had an awesome balcony which offered some great views, and you weren't too far away from the stage either.
  20. I'm not as optimistic, but agree this if the anchor is the right kind then yeah, good things should follow. Also an x-factor in this hood is the continued resurrection of Edgewater Park. The "Edgewater" name has been pretty tarnished for so long, it's possible that a negative association could've been partly responsible for the malaise in the neighborhood. Anyhow, proximity to a world class park and beach could do wonders for the entire surrounding area.
  21. The Odeon was a great venue to see shows....miss that place. In its previous incarnation the place featured reggae bands, usually free admission too. It was filled with picnic tables for communal seating. And they had a service window where you could grab a beer or pizza. It was very welcoming and casual. I can't help but think this concept could easily work again. Anyone else remember the Pre-Odeon?
  22. Having superior food to Buffalo Wild Wings will only get you so far, I think. I like Lizard for watching sports, usually a good atmosphere. And great beer list. They've got those aspects covered.
  23. Where in the world is MTS to weigh in on this Hilton Motor Lodge?
  24. "Members of the Design Review Committee were unimpressed by the design for the Bruell restaurant, which they described as incomplete, vague and lacking in personality." I'm glad the review committee is holding up higher standards. Did these folks see Beach Taco yet?

At least five times tonight I thought to myself "Hts....dammit he predicted this."
