  1. Love the Nauti Mermaid. A bit sad to see China Sea closed. They were a solid option of Chinese takeout.

Awful news all around today. The evidence just keeps showing an organization in perpetual disarray. Is there any reason for any rational adult to be a Browns fan?

Marc Bona, Northeast Ohio Media Group 6 hours ago @erocc now that you mention it, that's a good point ...
  4. There really ought to be a mock annual award ceremony, like an architectural version of the Razzys. Maybe public shaming will have an effect on Cleveland Clinic and CSU and the other habitual offenders.
  5. I don't think it's the end of the world if this isn't done by the Republican Convention. With the North Coast Transportation Center back in the game, delays in the bridge could be a blessing in disguise. And furthermore, I'd rather have the North Coast Harbor redevelopment dictate the design and placement of the bridges northern terminus, rather than vice versa.

Neat bit of history! My Italian grandparents skipped right past NYC with the allure of plentiful jobs in Pittsburgh, I'd like to know if they were swayed by a similar poster. From there they followed job recruitment into Ohio, and settled in Wooster's Little Italy.
  7. This would be a travesty.

Amazing! Maybe all stats involving LeBron should get an asterisk. I've gotta say it's been awesome seeing the highlights and fans finally getting into the games. This is the kinda stuff we've been waiting for. Sending positive vibes from the west coast!
  9. New artwork from Glenn Petranek. www.glennpics.com

    ^ Strickland? How unexciting.
  11. That section of Clifton is dying -- the huge vacant lot at West 117th and Clifton is sucking the life out of the area because Giant Eagle is holding the neighborhood hostage with its selfish deed restriction on the site. Wow, that place was like the anchor business on that stretch. Does anyone even still go to Papa Nicks? Tick Tock Tavern? The nondescript Asian restaurant?
  12. Lived there for four years, 2000-04. Pros: Building is solid Warm enough I could open windows in the winter Walk to Edgewater Park The fixtures are quality, vintage Mgmt seemed friendly to deal with Indoor parking if you can afford the extra charge Walk to retail district on Clifton, which should be improving Cons: Elevator is suitable for a haunted house Usually late getting the heat going, allegedly boiler issues every year Amateur job refinishing hardwood floors caused flakes of polyurethane to get everywhere Oversleeping and having cars towed ** I believe street parking allowance has now been extended In shower you're in constant danger of being boiled alive by scalding water if a neighbor flushes toilet Occasional old lady smells in common areas Laundry facility was substandard, crypt-like

Alec Scheiner on Adam the Bull right now saying.... NEW BROWNS UNIFORMS TO BE REVEALED BEFORE THE DRAFT.
  14. The use of color on buildings is forbidden. It could incite all kinds of unruly behavior. Signed, The Amish.
  15. Here is an image from Cresco's marketing material for the building. Courtesy of Michelle Jarboe in the recent Cleveland.com article. Looks very good, but not quite the level of detail from your historic image. Wow, seems colder; much less inviting than the original design.

  17. What? Garfield the cat doesn't crack your top three?
  18. Exactly. It's one thing to suffer from past mistakes. But to continue making these bad choices, it is simply astounding.
  19. Agree, it looks like a necessary evil with this design. There are little things they can do to improve aesthetics, such as place historical markers. They do a great job with those on the Towpath Trail. But man, I really hate the northern terminus. It's just so indicative of what's wrong with North Coast Harbor.
  20. ^ Does anyone know if those second story windows open onto balconies? Because that would be cool.

Right. And everyone's saying how dumb Josh is. Fine. A lot of great athletes barely made it through high school. It's just simply amazing to me that violating this rule costs you your job....when that job entails catching a ball and then running with it. These are NFL players, not surgeons or air traffic controllers.
  22. As far as .com comments sections go, this one is actually pretty okay.
  23. I'd bet that in time this purchase is going to prove a very worthwhile investment.

^ The 9 or 10 Cavs fans that bought Andrew Bynum jerseys would be happy.

Right. It's crazy that this is exactly what we all wanted to see from Dion.
