  1. oh. I see now. Thanks for clarifying. I wonder if those drivers realize they can just go up the ramp cross e9 and enter the shoreway that way.
  2. heading into downtown from the west. have you ever tried taking the e9 exit ramp and there is traffic on your right, trying to merge onto the shoreway? Maybe not from amtrak- could be from a parking garage. Anyhow its an awkward, dangerous situation.
  3. Today I was exiting the West Shoreway on E 9th and, as per usual, there were several cars kind of stuck trying to leave the Amtrack space. Why isn't that Amtrack traffic simply routed up the ramp to the E. 9th traffic light. It would make for a much easier entrance onto the Shoreway, and those cars/trucks wouldn't be boxed in by the cars exiting E. 9th.
  4. Maybe he's just leaving town to avoid any further battles with council. ;) No that was Mike White!
  5. The term "lawfully" means virtually nothing to me. Check out the Wal-Mart video where the police actions were determined to be "lawful." That term is ajoke.
  6. All we know of Officer Loehmann is that he was not mentally stable enough to hack it in Independence. That his weapons training was "dismal." And that he wanted more "action." Why give this moron the benefit of the doubt?
  7. same car. Yep. It was at a lot on hamilton down a few blockr west from galleria. Last time it was recovered near e55. And there was a machete inside.
  8. Wow, so a co-worker just got his Honda Civic stolen from a downtown lot....FOR THE SECOND TIME.
  9. And if Manziel plays well and the Browns win, a lot of people will be saying "what if..." I'm still okay with the decision to start Hoyer yesterday.

hey the chinatown fair. thats a cool place. was a lot better when they had the live tic tac toe chicken though haha. but arcade looks good, i want to see that. if you like arcade also check out king of kong if you haven't seen it yet, these two characters are really something else: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0923752/ *** a friend of mine and i have been talking about room 237. its fantastic. its about people who see all manner of conspiracies in stanley kubrick's movie the shining. you can watch it on youtube. it's a lot of fun and makes for good conversation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Room_237 The Chicken!!! Arcade should be out very soon. The director, Kurt Vincent, produced and edited Out of Place. Kurt's a perfectionist schooled at the Maysles Documentary Center, so I'm trying my best to get him to finally "surrender" Arcade for release haha. It's going to be a wonderful film. And you won't have to be a fan of video games to appreciate it either. It's a wider social commentary on human interaction more than anything.

Will LeBron ever have a true point guard? I sometimes wonder what a Mark Price (or virtually any other great Cavs PG) would look like dishing to LBJ.

For you video game fanatical types :-) http://watch.arcademovie.com/
  13. ^ And on the other side you have folks thinking cops are always justified in their actions.

I was on my second 32 oz Dortmunder Gold at the time, but from my recollection Miller took a long three, and on his follow through the side of his head hit the defenders elbow. Then, I'm fairly certain they called Miller for a foul. But it could've been something called off the ball, I'm not sure.
  15. Oh - glad you brought up the master plan. Do you have any insight on the likelihood of it being realized? I ask because I've heard that the University is scaling back a lot of their ambitious building plans. And with University Park going south, It's concerning that the undeveloped areas could remain so for a long time.
  16. WTAM 1100 keeps reporting that Eric Garner died after being "restrained." I just thought that was interesting which media outlets are using which terminology, ie "restrained" vs "chokehold."
  17. When has the CPD admitted this was botched? They couldn't immediately answer why the officer drove up so close to gazebo at the park in the initial press conference but besides offering condolences, I haven't seen any admission of wrongdoing (which may or may not even exist here). Unless I missed something, of course. Agree, I didn't read any official comments to that level of admission. However, common sense dictates that if a suspect reportedly has a gun, why would any officer in their right mind expose themselves to danger by pulling right up in front of that person?

Glad to see they didn't seem to lose their composure last night, despite what was essentially a Knicks highlight reel for much of the game.
  19. ^ There it is. That's much much more along the lines of what should be connecting downtown to the lakefront.
  20. I'd say 515 Euclid is fairly impressive.
  21. Primarily the areas adjacent to Exchange Street. Between Grant and Route 8. Like the Stadium parking lot on Exchange where Joe's Sun Bar was? big loss, yikes. Maybe Greek Village? Nothing lost there. It is empty now so I see somewhat of a point there. Everywhere else is pretty developed. That's why I am confused as to what you are referring to. I'm not here to say Joe's Sun Bar was spectacular. But the lost businesses that lined Exchange at least added a vibrancy, and the sense of a walkable business district. Infocision, as great as it is a venue, is a dead zone 95 percent of the time. Also, it appears to have inspired no spin off development whatsoever. Unless you want to count the ample parking that now exists.
  22. Looks like they're finishing up the tree planting today.
  23. ^ New windows are looking pretty cool. I'm curious to know how the views from the inside are affected by the additional glass.
  24. “In the ‘60s, in the ‘70s, in the ‘80s, we built buildings that forgot about what that street is about,” Stark told Cuyahoga County Council yesterday afternoon. This should be the opposite. There shouldn’t be one inch of frontage of the buildings involved here that isn’t active.
