I was commenting moreso on the materials and quality of construction. Design is something else. Not contradicting you in any way - I agree with you. Just adding to the conversation.

Well, if he's struggling it will be interesting to see if he gets the hook again.

Cleveland: Midtown: Development and News
The old Ohio Knitting Mills was actually between East 59th and 61st north of Euclid. Interested in the history now. Was this related to the Knitting mills at 28th and Detroit? I don't think so, that's the Federal Knitting Mills http://www.fkmb.com/new_fkmb/about.html

Does anyone know an eccentric billionaire who would be willing to fund the construction of an exact replica of the bath house? ;) Ha! Playhouse Square just got another 10 million. There's money out there, that's for sure.

Cleveland-Lakewood: Enhance Clifton Transit Project
Road salt is the spawn of satan. Saves lives. I think those lives are well worth the extra wear and tear that it causes. Are you against spending more money on an alternative that would save even more lives? Because there are alternatives. And there wouldn't be the negative costs that come with road salt, which is damaging to everything. Including the trees and shrubs being re-planted on Clifton.

Akron: University of Akron: Development and News
It would have been nice for them to have recognized a slowdown in campus development before they turned half of the Exchange strip into parking lots that likely will remain parking lots for the foreseeable future. What areas are "bombed out". I know Kent and Akron are both close in proximity but the cities themselves are very different and not comparable in this manner. That's like saying Ohio University and Cleveland State should learn from each other. It's my understanding this has always been planned. They had a Master Plan done years ago and had it updated again last year by one of the leaders in Master Planning in the country. All of the teardowns and new vacant lots have sucked alot of energy away from this area. Entire blocks of houses are gone. The neighborhood reminds me of the poorer areas of Appalachia in some ways. My comparison of then vs. now is based on my attendance at Akron during 1990's. Even without the nice, new buildings or football stadium, there were more businesses around, and it was livelier and more interesting back then.

Cincinnati Bengals Discussion
It seems like he can't cope with a mistake. Just like in the Brown's game, he came out of the gate and immediately messed up and then never recovered. When he gets off to a good start, he can ride the momentum through the game, but when he gets off to a bad start he just keeps going downhill. Interesting, sounds like he needs to adopt that "closers mentality" in baseball...selective bad memory.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I'm 50/50 on this decision. On the one hand, I think we've seen that Hoyer needs just about everything clicking in order to be effective. With Manziel, you can see the greater dynamic he brings, but over the course of a full game he's likely to take some risks that could be costly. Hoyer is still the best Browns QB in recent memory. He can have a place in the league for years. As of today I just think he makes for a better backup rather than a starter. Anyhow, even with all the injuries you don't give up on the season. As long as Andy Dalton continues his assault on his own team at QB the Browns have a shot at the division. The team has got to go with the guy that gives them a better chance to win. Is that Manziel or Hoyer? The hell if I know the answer to that question.

Bengals fans, what's the deal with Andy Dalton? Is there a more Dr. Jekyll QB in the NFL??

I don't see Heinen's going there. Dave's and Acme are possibilities, also Sav-a-Lot or Aldi's. There's an Aldi's on W 117 and Madison.

The only bright spot for me is that without this project there's now no chance I'll be setting foot in a Giant Eagle. This location would've been far too convenient for me to keep up with my boycott.

Here's the Leonard Krieger Canalway Center in Cuyahoga Hts. If you've never been there, it's very well done. http://standardcontracting.com/2010/05/canalway-center/ IMHO Edgewater is deserving of something larger. Redevelopment at the beach poses a unique opportunity. We should make a bold statement about how this region and its people are reconnecting with Lake Erie. A multi-use structure along the lines of the original bathhouse is wholly appropriate for this excellent location.

There's some kind of protest around Public Square. People are standing across Superior blocking traffic and there are cops everywhere.

Not if you can get hurt in a fight wrecking your ability to play and make money. He's also a celebrity well beyond his achievements on the field, and personally controversial. As I said: Steffi Graff. She was stabbed by a crazed "fan". And remember what happened to Kenny Rogers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpKV2El2604#t=1063

As the first half was concluding the announcers came as close as they could to calling both head coaches idiots.
