Glass Block is Terrible

What are you watching?
I'm planning on re-watching it. It has been 20+ years since I saw an episode. I remember the show kind of scaring me as a kid in how 'dark' it was..... and kept getting darker as the show went along. I wonder if that was just the kid in me or whether it really was somewhat scary I was watching it late nights when I couldn't sleep. And yeah, I'd say it still is scary. At least when you're home alone at 2am.

What are you watching?
It took me 20 something years, but I finally watched Twin Peaks and really liked it. Especially Kyle MacLachlan. Looking forward to the new stuff for sure. Also wrapping up the 3rd season of The Killing on Netflix. There are some slight, David Lynch-esque elements to the show....some real twists and turns. The writers are crafty. It's been pretty good and I'd recommend it.

Really? But isn't the back building purple too?

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
It absolutely floors me that someone who pleads guilty to gross sexual imposition on a ten year old in 2008, can be free and walking the streets in 2014.

^ Liking how this is looking, except for the purple. CLE could always use some more color, but I am not digging purple, ever.

^ This. I think every diner in NJ has burned down at least twice. Good heavens just google "New Jersey" "diner" "fire" and you'll be amazed.

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
It's almost as if the architect broke into some long forgotten basement at Kent State University and stole those plans from a rusted out filing cabinet.

Cleveland Relocation Thread
No worries Bosco. For the record I'm not disagreeing with the numbers, only that based on my perception Lakewood, particularly my hood, feels very diverse to me. Oh - regarding Nepal, I am just kinda excited to have neighbors from so far away. The adults still wear the traditional clothing, but the kids dress and run around like run of the mill American kids.

I know these are the numbers, but if you want to see what America looks like, or perhaps even the world, go to Lakewood Park on July 4th. It's by far the most diverse crowd I've ever witnessed. Every day in my small neighborhood you'll see white kids and black kids playing together, and it's really cool to see. All of my new neighbors are from Nepal. Freaking Nepal!!!!

Cleveland Relocation Thread
My neighbor across the street, Polish Joe, has been working on his rental house for ages. Too bad that's not ready yet - it's huge and right next to the school. Wow I have not been to Tick Tock in ages, but it seems pretty lively on the weekends. Seems like an old school crowd. Sadly, B-Ware and many of the cool, edgy shops from when the hood was called the "Village on Madison" are gone. But there have been some great replacements with Thai Kitchen, Barrocco (Central American), Flying Rib (ribs!), Taco Tontos, Mahalls Bowling, Thai Hut, Khiems Vietnamese, etc. Sorry you're not finding the rentals, but like I said, Cleveland Hts has lots of positives too.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Shoot, I forgot former Akron Zips hustle-guy Nate Linhart plays for Macabi! Played 21 minutes, had 5 points (nailed a corner 3 and hit two FTs), 6 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block.

I'm in the Bird Town section of Lakewood, right across from Harrison Elementary. I'd recommend it, and yes I'm biased. Cheaper homes to rent or buy. And you're still within a short walk of Madison Park, RTA, Madison Library, school and about ten cool restaurants....well, eleven with the micro brewery/pizza parlor that's opening on Robin!! http://www.cleveland.com/lakewood/index.ssf/2014/06/lakewood_commission_grants_its.html Anyhow I also like Cleveland Hts and Tremont quite a bit. Good luck in the search!

^ Cool you saw the game? How did AV look? In the espn highlight reel it's kind of funny, TT looks so freaking surprised to be getting such great passes and spacing toward the basket lol. He'd better get used to it!

Cleveland Browns Discussion
If you look at the Whitehurst TD's, one was a great play. The other was a horribly blown coverage iirc. They basically dared him to pass the entire second half. And, he couldn't. I've seen him as backup for Chargers quite a bit and believe me, he's nothing more than a 2nd or 3rd string QB. The difference between Browns vs. Steelers/Browns vs. Ravens are just a few points, but that's all you need for the W. Browns should've beaten Ravens, but their own inconsistencies killed them; Baltimore didn't win, the Browns lost.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Debbie Downer here. Even with the great comeback yesterday, I'm still seeing the Browns as last place in AFC North, that is unless they can vastly improve. They are just way too inconsistent so far, and they were fortunate to be playing lowly Tennessee yesterday with Wally Whitehurst at QB.

Cleveland: Festivals, Music Concerts, & Events
Didn't make it this year but did go last year. It was really fun. I'll call last year a success. Mostly on the mere fact that drawing people to the waterfront showcased just how much we are lacking in a "go-to" lively place; the kind of spot where one can just hang out and enjoy a summer night in a lively, festive atmosphere. Obviously it's kinda cool being lakeside and as we all know, we need more of that option. In the somewhat near future this "go-to" place could be North Coast Harbor, aka Baltimore: The Sequel. Maybe FEB boardwalk will be the place, though I doubt it. We shall see.
