  1. “We’ve been the underdog for a long time,” Gilbert said. “In some ways, we relish in that.” Love it.
  2. Great news, Sarah Wilson-Jones is such a great, nice person. Wishing her and Phoenix the best in this cool little locale.
  3. Agreed...just hoping they plan for the entire NC Transportation Center........just in case funding happens down the line :) I do not think it is a coincidence that PB also did the preliminary engineering on the North Coast Transportation Center a decade ago. So they obviously know about it....that's a good start. I hope you're right; that it's more than coincidence. Let's do this thing right the first time. ***Also, in a recent Cleveland.com article it was mentioned that the Rock Hall and Science Center were going to finally improve their connectivity issues. http://www.cleveland.com/mycleveland/index.ssf/2014/08/kirsten_ellenbogen_thinks_our.html We have a lot of exciting ideas about lakefront development. There'll be connectors so you can walk between the institutions. The plan is terrific. City Hall is remarkably transparent about the process, and very inclusive. I am on the lakefront advisory committee and the group plan design committee.
  4. ^ Cautiously optimistic!!!

  7. Haha! So am I not the only one who is disappointed by this "tower?" This looks like a very cheap homage to the Salvation Army. What was the budget for this? Forty dollars? All of Ohio should be very proud.

Tell those a-holes that you're not your fking khakis. Then again, you're not a beautiful and unique snowflake either. Right! I'm not at [insert coolest club on earth here] trying to impress anyone, I'm working in an office trying to look as homely as everyone else lol.

I seriously want Trixie to be a national term not just Chicago. There is no good term in other cities for these people. As to the comment about the West coast not being as bro as the midwest? I'd argue LA is extremely bro, but like everything else there its a very different brand of bro. Lots of them are "Beautiful People" with ties to the entertainment industry but still have the same sort of attitude only difference being they are better dressed. Just listen to the LA dance music scene and don't tell me that its not like the ultimate endgame of bro culture. *Warning, this is long. Like how LA hipsters are less douchey than hipsters in other cities, LA bros are also less douchey than bros in other cities. As someone who is 25-50% LA bro, I can easily handle the scene there. And the whole dance music scene is better in LA...and Vegas. People party better in LA and Vegas, and the bro/trixie scene has a fashionable, sexy, positive vibe. I think people are generally nice is LA/Orange County. But that's the only place in America where people have outright asked which brand shirt I was wearing. Or commenting that I was wearing "last years Dockers." Really, who the hell cares?? Nobody has ever done that to me in NYC/Brooklyn/Ohio/Montreal/etc.
  10. Also ironic: the seating is the same color as Jimmy Haslam's face.

Right. Especially coming off major surgery, combined with a whole new offense it's understandable that things look shaky all around. Also relevant and eerily reminiscent to the Frye/Anderson mishandling is how the coaches are setting themselves up for failure with this QB competition. By choosing either Frye or Anderson early on, the coaches could have focused 100 percent on tailoring the offense to that specific QB's abilities. Instead time was wasted "Oh I'll just flip a coin and see who starts" b.s. And precious time is being wasted now, as the skillset and plays applicable to Manziel and Hoyer are very different.

What we saw last night with Hoyer/Manziel was no different than the Frye/Anderson competition where neither QB got enough reps before the regular season. As of today they absolutely must go forward with Hoyer as the no. 1. That offense last night sucked and looked like Maurice Carthon was drawing up plays. And the receivers sucked too.
  13. From the interview I heard with the brass yesterday on 92.3, this is is just the first wave of numerous renovations that are on the way. Also, the person interviewed (can't remember who it was exactly) mentioned a few times that the stadium was "sterile" ha ha.

  15. OMG. I...I.... I'm verklempt. Now I suspect who stole all my Love and Rockets tapes out of my Chevy Cavalier...it was Musky!!!!
  16. I like it. A law school once used free or at least heavily discounted tuition when it first opened. Once it got on the radar it gradually raised pricing to reflect demand. I feel like in many instances, transit has to first become a part of a persons mental geography in order to flourish.
  17. Some guy on his bike got robbed somewhere near Bridge Ave. The guys jumped out of their car and had shotguns!

^ Funny I think the same exact thing each day!!
  20. Never contemplated that, but I would agree that would be an awesome location for those types of businesses. I'm not a huge fan of the design, but the positives far outweigh all of the massive negatives that could have happened with that lot. I would be surprised if Ray's didn't move over, I thought the whole impetus behind putting up that building was due to disputes with the landlord across the street. As far as I know, Ray's is crossing the street. And bringing their wall artwork with them.

Could be. But we routinely beat them. That's not much of a rivalry then. Well, they were trash talkers IIRC. I want our opponents to be hated, it's more fun that way ha ha. Like it was so easy to hate on Boozer. And then Noah with his anti-Cleveland comments. Was just thinking, can you imagine the nba coverage if the Knicks had any sort of team going right now? It would be insane. And love or hate NYC, meaningful games at MSG are always a good thing for the league.
  22. How realistic would it be to finish the Tower City redevelopment? If I'm not mistaken there was to be a residential tower added before the Neiman Marcus deal fell apart. I think that's pretty much ancient history. I remember in the 90s when FCE had that plastic model in Terminal Tower's (amazing) foyer off Public Square of the "full" Tower City developments, including more than one residential high-rises south of Huron, which is the exact same footprint Gilbert has planned for Horeshoe II... So much for the planned TC residential component. Their along-the-riverfront development concept looked tremendous. It's really too bad that didn't happen. Those with Casino Phase II on the horizon maybe we'll see some semblance of that original vision taking shape. Or the riverfront will be a parking lot.

Cavs/Wash had a good rivalry, though I cannot exactly remember what years they were. It's hard for me to dislike Charlotte, they've just been so hapless.

I want the Bulls to be good. Noah is a good villain. But not just for entertainment purposes, but we need some healthy competition in the East.
